Week 2 Preseason Monday Night Football - Colts vs. Ravens (8pm ET)
by Fairway Jay
In the final, meaningless practice preseason game of week 2, the Baltimore Ravens visit the Indianapolis Colts in a game that has seen the favorite switch sides. The total is also up a tick as Colts QB Andrew Luck likely plays the first quarter while Joe Flacco sharpens up for the Ravens after sitting out last week’s game vs. the Bears. Following those two starters will be Colts QB’s Jacoby Brissett, Phillip Walker and Brad Kaya. The Ravens counter with Robert Griffin III, rookie Lamar Jackson and potentially Josh Woodrum for tonight's preseason Monday Night Football game.Indianapolis fans will miss the “Voice of the Colts” the past 31 years, as Bob Lamey announced his retirement as play-by-play announcer on Sunday. The Colts radio host and preseason sideline reporter Matt Taylor will fill the role on an interim basis beginning with Monday’s game against the Ravens. He may have to call more penalties as they are assessed following the Colts chippiest practice in years Saturday. The two sides attempted to hold joint sessions Friday and Saturday, and scrappy hits with brawls and blows left the Colts bruised and new head coach Frank Reich steaming following the 2-hour session Saturday.
2018 PRESEASON MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL (8pm ET) Indianapolis Colts +100 | +1 (-105) | U 43.5 Baltimore Ravens -140 | -1 (-115) | O 43.5
Tune in Monday to see if more tempers flare, and which QB’s execute and determine the final score as the backups take more snaps in the second half. Hopefully, the sloppiness and cheap shots delivered during the scrimmage will not carry over to the game and much better execution will be on display.
While Andrew Luck is returning to action this season following an injury that left him out the entire year and the Colts scuffling to a 4-12 season, it’s the Colts offensive line and changes that are worth watching. Right tackle Austin Howard is now a Colts lineman after starting all 16 games for the Ravens last season. Along with an influx of high draft choices in recent years, the Colts offensive line play play is expected to improve in front of Luck.

The Ravens are 2-0 in the preseason with the extra win in the Hall of Fame game followed by last week’s 17-16 win as the Bears missed the 2-point conversion following a TD late in the contest. The Ravens had less than 200 yards total offense, and now try to move the ball more efficiently against a Colts defense that held the Seahawks to less than 200 yards in a 19-17 win at Seattle last week. Andrew Luck passed for 64 yards on 6-of-9 passing.
Preseason totals are 6-9 O/U in Week 2 after Week 1 produced more scoring and 11-5 O/U. We’ll take a small shot UNDER 43.5 points when the Ravens and Colts collide in preseason Monday Night Football.
