Super Bowl LIV by the numbers
The 100th NFL season concluded Sunday night in spectacular fashion. The Kansas City Chiefs mounted a fourth quarter comeback to defeat the San Francisco 49ers 31-20 in Super Bowl LIV. Here are the numbers behind the biggest event in sports.
3 — Double digit deficits the Chiefs overcame in the playoffs to win their first Super Bowl in 50 years. Kansas City trailed 24-0 vs. Houston and 17-7 vs. Tennessee before falling behind 20-10 to San Francisco with only seven minutes to play in Miami.
4 — Games Jimmy Garoppolo threw multiple interceptions this season after tossing two picks in Super Bowl LIV. However, the interceptions might not have been his worst passes of the night. Trailing by four on third and 10 with 1:49 to play, Jimmy G had an open Emmanuel Sanders streaking down the middle of the field but overthrew, killing his chance of giving the 49ers a late lead with a 50-yard touchdown.
5.6 — Million dollars that were spent for premium ad space during Fox’s Super Bowl LIV broadcast. Some spots from the pregame show sold for up to $3 million. Mr. Peanut’s eulogy was the most-anticipated ad of the day, until Bill Murray stole the show on Groundhog Day.
17 — Demi Lovato and Patrick Mahomes were each 17 years old when they shared the following messages on social media:
One day, I'm gonna sing the national anthem at a super bowl. Onnnee dayyy....

I bet it feels amazing to be the quarterback who says "I'm going to Disney World" after winning the Super Bowl #Qbs

20-31 — Jimmy Garoppolo’s passing completion and attempt stats were the same as the final score. Woah.
24 — Years and 138 days old. The age at which Patrick Mahomes became the youngest player to win an NFL MVP and a Super Bowl, surpassing a mark previously held by Emmitt Smith. Mahomes is the youngest QB to ever win Super Bowl MVP and third-youngest overall, trailing only Marcus Allen (Super Bowl XVIII) and Lynn Swann (Super Bowl X).
89 — Percent of households with a television in Kansas City were tuned into Super Bowl LIV. Kind of makes you wonder what the other 11 percent were doing, doesn't it?
103 — Million people who tuned into the Pepsi Halftime Show. That number was up 4% from last year.

104 — The Chiefs’ Damien Williams rushed for a game-high 104 yards and scored two fourth quarter touchdowns to clinch the win.
8,507 — The average cost, in dollars, per Super Bowl LIV ticket on TicketMaster. The game at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami is now the highest average ticket price of any event in Ticketmaster history.
