Sunday Night Football preview: 49ers favored over banged up Seahawks
After playing as the walking wounded for a large chunk of the second half of 2019, it seems only fitting that the recuperating San Francisco 49ers get to play a hobbled Seahawks squad in Seattle this Sunday for the NFC West title. The No. 1 overall seed in the NFC is also at stake for the Niners, who would be relegated to a wild-card spot in the unlikely event they lose.
San Francisco 49ers vs. Seattle Seahawks odds
Team | Spread | Moneyline | Total |

San Francisco 49ers | -3.5 | -190 | O 47 |
Seattle Seahawks | +3.5 | +155 | U 47 |
Mostert has been a monster
San Francisco will probably try to control this game on the ground. Raheem Mostert has usurped command of the backfield, averaging 80.5 yards per game over his last four tilts with a touchdown in each contest (54 carries). He should have a good day against Seattle’s 24th-ranked run stoppers.Jimmy G should have plenty of time to deliver
Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo has been reliable on the road, completing 70.4 percent of his passes for 8.5 yards per attempt with a 13-5 touchdown-interception ratio, slightly better than his home splits in all three departments. CenturyLink Field is a hostile environment, but the Seahawks’ pass rush, 30th in the NFL in sacks, will give “Jimmy G” time to go through his progressions.Seattle is badly banged up
Seattle lost more than just a game when they were beaten by the Cardinals 27-13 last Sunday as halfbacks Chris Carson and C.J. Prosise were knocked out for the season by injury. The Seahawks lured running back Marshawn Lynch out of retirement and signed Robert Turbin off the scrap heap to make up the difference. The two over-the-hill tailbacks will be running behind a dilapidated offensive line that’s already short center Joey Hunt and left tackle Duane Brown and might miss left guard Mike Iupati (neck). This does not bode well for quarterback Russell Wilson as he’ll be up against the Niners’ fifth-rated pass rush (37 sacks) led by Arik Armstead and Nick Bosa.Heard this from @dickfain yesterday:

The Seahawks have 255 injury games lost this season, second most in the NFL. Yet Seattle is 11-4. The teams ranked 1, 3, and 4 on that list are 13-33.
For all the things Pete has done wrong this year, he’s done a lot right.
Trends bettors should note that San Francisco is 5-2 against the spread in seven road games this season while Seattle has dropped five of seven against the spread at home in 2019.
