NFL mock draft: Ranking the 5 best wide receivers
This year’s wide receiver draft class might be one of the most loaded in recent memory. Alabama alone has enjoyed enough talent to make some NFL teams envious, but there are other players across the country who are going to be difference makers at the next level.
Let’s look at the five best draft-eligible wide receivers who will hear their name called in Las Vegas.
5. Tee Higgins (Clemson)
Higgins is a fantastic red-zone and long-distance threat. At 6-foot-4, and with good speed, he led the ACC in reception touchdowns each of the last two years. Higgins also improved his yards-per-reception numbers all the way to an elite 19.8 during his junior year.
The biggest question mark for Higgins will be whether he can handle the consistent physicality of NFL defensive backs.
Tee Higgins wins with his absurd catch radius and ball skills. His ability to separate isn’t on par with Jeudy or Lamb, but his ability to climb the ladder and win down the football field is impressive.pic.twitter.com/z4nNW46E9v

4. Justin Jefferson (LSU)
Jefferson is the player who has benefited most from an outstanding 2019 season. He had an incredible 111 catches and 18 touchdowns as the No. 1 weapon for the national championship winners.
While quarterback Joe Burrow certainly made Jefferson look good, a lot of his work was done after the catch. The athletic receiver demonstrated all season what he can do with a good quarterback throwing to him.
3. Henry Ruggs III (Alabama)
Ruggs came to Alabama well known in recruiting circles as a player with great hands. While he didn’t show he was elite in that aspect during his college career, he ended up being an elite all-around receiver.
Ruggs has top-level speed, and it will be fascinating to see what he clocks at the combine. He averaged 9.0 yards after the catch during his college career, a clear indicator of his breakaway ability.
Can you imagine if the #Chiefs drafted Henry Ruggs III?!?! 💨

2. Jerry Jeudy (Alabama)
Considered the most polished route runner eligible for this year’s draft, Jeudy was the steady weapon Alabama turned to more than any other receiver in 2019.
Jeudy is fast and flexible, both on the ground and through the air, and keeps defenders guessing. He is guaranteed to be an immediate contributor at the next level.
1. CeeDee Lamb (Oklahoma)
Lamb’s play at Oklahoma most resembled elite NFL ball skills. Lamb was dangerous and aggressive after he caught the ball, but he also demonstrated a toughness and will to win every ball.
His hands appear the strongest of this year’s draft class. This reliability and elite pass-catching ability is the most fundamental job requirement for a wide receiver in the NFL.
