MNF: Seahawks vs. Eagles odds, preview, and pick
Seattle will hit the road on Monday night as the Seahawks visit the Philadelphia Eagles for Week 12 NFL action.
Seattle is rested and looking to fix road woes
The Seahawks are coming off a nice bit of rest, having not played since last Thursday night when they defeated the Arizona Cardinals. They are currently tied atop the NFC West with a 7-3 record, matching the Los Angeles Rams, but the Rams have the tiebreaker. The Seahawks have lost three straight games on the road, the last two by at least a touchdown each.
The return of RB Chris Carson should help provide Russell Wilson and company with a bit more punch on offense. Seattle has put just 44 points on the board over their last two games, albeit against solid defenses in the Rams and Cardinals. Carson has been out since Week 7, and he will face an Eagles’ defense that is allowing more than 133 yards per game on the ground. In fact, Philadelphia has allowed more than 150 yards on the ground three times in their last seven games.

On defense, the Seahawks will get a big boost with the return of Shaquem Griffin to the lineup. Seattle has not allowed less than 23 points in a game all season, but the offenses they face over the next four weeks should give them a chance to greatly improve in that area.
However, one area where they have done quite well is in the sack department. Since Week 8, only the Saints have taken down the quarterback more than the 16 times Seattle has done so. The Eagles have allowed Carson Wentz to be sacked 40 time this season, so odds are that number will increase.
Eagles look to regain division lead
Meanwhile, the Eagles currently sit just a half-game out of the lead, after the Washington Football Team defeated the Cowboys on Thursday night. The schedule ahead of Philadelphia is a difficult one, with the Packers, Saints, and Cardinals waiting after the Seahawks. Philadelphia will feel they must win at least one, if not more, of these games to make the playoffs.
The Eagles will need to figure out their quarterback play if they want that to happen. Per ESPN analytics, no quarterback in the entire league has a worse QB rating than Wentz on plays where the defense does not get a pash-rush win within two and a half seconds of the snap.
The calls to bench Wentz for backup Jalen Hurts, who the Eagles took in the second round, are getting louder and more plentiful. Over the last three games, Wentz has completed just 57.5% of his throws for a measly 566 yards. Wentz also has more turnovers by himself than most teams in the NFL this season.

Their defense has not fared much better, but when the offense isn’t scoring points the Eagles tend to get worn down. They have faced the fourth-most plays by opposing offenses, and rank in the bottom fourth of the league in time of possession and rush defense. If Wentz and company are unable to figure things out on offense, the Eagles might get run over in this game.
Seahawks and Eagles statistics and rankings
Team | Passing Yards | Rushing Yards | Passing Yards Allowed | Rushing Yards Allowed |

Seattle Seahawks | 278.7 (5th) | 121.3 (11th) | 343.7 (32nd) | 91.2 (4th) |
Philadelphia Eagles | 209.0 (28th) | 121.1 (12th) | 209.3 (6th) | 133.4 (26th) |
Seattle vs. Philadelphia injury report
Seattle will be without RT Brandon Shell, who will miss the game with an ankle injury. RB Travis Homer is also expected to miss the game with both thumb and knee issues.
As for Philadelphia, starting RT Lane Johnson announced on Friday that his ankle injury has ended his season. DE Derek Barnett is also questionable with a knee injury. C Jason Kelce is banged up, but is expected to play.
Seahawks vs. Eagles betting trends
The Seahawks have won seven of their last 10 games, but they have covered just twice in their last six. They have won six in a row against Philadelphia, covering the spread in each of them. The total has gone Under in four of their last seven, including their last two games, but it has gone Over in four of their last six road games.
The Eagles have covered the spread just three times in their last 11 games, and have won just two of their last six contests straight-up. The total has gone Under in 10 of their last 12 home games, and in six of their last eight games this season.
The Seahawks should not have much trouble with this Eagles team. Their defense is getting better and will add key pieces this week. Meanwhile, Philadelphia’s defense is going to have a tough time containing Wilson, who is in terrific form, and the rushing attack Seattle will likely unleash upon them.
Barring some sort of extraordinary performance from Wentz, I do not see a way for the Eagles to win this game. Seattle should roll, and will likely hold a team under 20 points for the first time this season.
Score prediction: Seattle 31, Philadelphia 17
NFL picks: Seahawks -5.5, Under 49
