Full Rundown of NFL Week 7 Picks
The Titans and Chargers are getting us off to a very early start on Sunday morning when they battle in the next London Game at Wembley Stadium. I've previewed that London game separately here. Read on for the rest of my NFL Week 7 picks! Good luck this weekend.
Sunday, Oct. 21
Buffalo Bills at Indianapolis Colts -7.5 Most feel the Colts are offering too many points to a Buffalo team that’s 3-1 ATS in their last 4. Buffalo has benched Nathan Peterman (hilariously at the request of the Bills' locker room!) in favor of Derek Anderson, a quality quarterback who’s had success as a starter. He’ll get the nod, which means Bills are the play.
NFL Week 7 Picks: Buffalo +7.5
Minnesota Vikings -3 at New York Jets Most trends point to the Jets covering. NYJ is 12-3 ATS in their last 15 on field turf, 10-2 in their last 12 at home, 6-0-2 in their last 8 in Week 7, and 8-0-1 in their last 9 in October. Minnesota’s 2-0 ATS in their last couple on the road but they were dogs in both. I like the Jets.
NFL Week 7 Picks: Jets +3
Carolina Panthers at Philadelphia Eagles -4.5 I’m not sure how many headlines I saw about Carson Wentz looking super and how Eagles are back after Philadelphia dominated the New York Giants 34-13. I laughed at every single one of these headlines because the Eagles had just beaten a bad football team. Carolina’s 5-0 ATS in their last 5 after a straight up loss. They’re also 10-4 ATS in their last 14 after a loss. Plus, they’ve got a quarterback that’s way more mobile than the statue that is Eli Manning.
NFL Week 7 Picks: Panthers +4.5
Cleveland Browns at Tampa Bay Buccaneers -3 Buccaneers rank dead last in the NFL in passing yards allowed. Cleveland’s not a great football team, but I’ve looked at trends, stats, and everything, and I keep coming back to how awful Tampa is at stopping the pass. Browns on the moneyline is the way I’m going.
NFL Week 7 Picks: Browns ML
New England Patriots -3.5 at Chicago Bears Bill Belichick said Khalil Mack’s not as good as Lawrence Taylor. Who cares why Belichick said it? We know Mack’s taking that as inspiration to rough up the Patriots’ offensive line. Other reasons to back Chicago in this one is that the Patriots are just 1-4 ATS versus a team with a winning record while Chicago’s 6-0-1 ATS in their last 7 home games versus a team with a winning road record, and 11-3-1 against the spread in their last 15 at home.
NFL Week 7 Picks: Bears +3.5
Houston Texans at Jacksonville Jaguars -5 Jaguars finally return to Jacksonville after a couple of tough road losses. Jags have problems, though. They can’t stop the rush while they average less than 19 points. Houston beats Jacksonville SU.
NFL Week 7 Picks: Texans moneyline
New Orleans Saints at Baltimore Ravens -2.5 Sunday’s marquee matchup could turn into a Saints’ win if Sean Payton and Drew Brees spent their bye like they always do. New Orleans is 9-1 ATS in their last 10 after a bye. Saints are 3-0 ATS in their last 3. New Orleans scored 43, 33, and 33 in those games. Saints win by at least 6 points.
NFL Week 7 Picks: Saints +2.5
L.A. Rams -10 at San Francisco 49ers Even though 49ers battled Green Bay tough in a Week 6 loss, most NFL handicappers side with Los Angeles to cover. Rams are 0-3 ATS in their last three outings, 1-4 ATS in their last 5 following an ATS loss, and 0-5 ATS in the last 5 meetings. No way I’m backing Rams at double-digits based on those trends. Their offense will also be without Connor Kupp, who looks like an integral playmaker.
NFL Week 7 Picks: 49ers +10
Dallas Cowboys at Washington Redskins -1.5 One-dimensional Dallas averages 147.5 rushing and only 172 passing. Washington holds opponents to 90.7 rushing. Redskins could blow out the Cowboys on Sunday.
NFL Week 7 Picks: Redskins -1.5
