Derrick Henry favored to post most rushing yards on Sunday
Tennessee Titans tailback Derrick Henry is an overwhelming favorite at +105 odds to post the most rushing yards in the NFL on Sunday.
His Titans will be matched up with a Houston Texans team that’s allowed the second-most rushing yards per game this season (151.7), but there’s a chance Tennessee may rest (or at least spell) Henry if the game gets out of hand with the playoffs on the horizon.
Here are our three value bets to post the most rushing yards in the league this Sunday.
Favorites for most rushing yards
Name | Odds |
---|
Derrick Henry | +105 |
Jonathan Taylor | +900 |
David Montgomery | +1400 |
Melvin Gordon | +1700 |
Alexander Mattison | +2200 |
Jonathan Taylor (+900)
With the Indianapolis Colts needing a win and some help to get into the postseason, they shouldn’t be afraid to hitch their wagon to their latest workhorse running back in Jonathan Taylor.

The Wisconsin product has rushed for no fewer than 74 yards in each of his last five games, scoring five rushing touchdowns in that span. That includes a 150-yard outburst against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 14.
Taylor should find seams aplenty against a Jacksonville Jaguars defense that’s third-worst in the NFL in stopping the run.
Alexander Mattison (+2200)
With Dalvin Cook out (bereavement), Alexander Mattison moves way up the running back power rankings for Week 17 as his Minnesota Vikings visit the Detroit Lions.

Mattison is capable of a big game, as evidenced by his 112-yard performance against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 5, when Cook was injured. He’ll match up with a Lions defense that surrenders 135.5 rushing yards per game, the fourth-worst mark in football.
Josh Jacobs (+2800)
Another late-season swoon spelled doom for the Raiders, and hurt Josh Jacobs’ production as his team desperately tried to work their way back into games. With little on the line against the Denver Broncos aside from pride, Jacobs should get plenty of touches and a shot at a huge performance.

Jacobs ran for 112 yards against the Broncos in Week 11. Denver is allowing the seventh-most rushing yards per game in the NFL, so the odds of that effort being a fluke are negligible.
At a sizable price, Jacobs is worth a wager in this market.
