Who will lead the NFL in rushing yardage in 2019?
When it comes to pounding the rock, every NFL team wants a guy who can both put his head down to get that extra yard and break a tackle to go 70 yards to the house.
It’s hard to find a running back who can do both, but each year it seems a new athletic freak enters the league that changes the expectations of the position. Let’s take a look at who we think might win the rushing title for 2019.Ezekiel Elliott +250
Elliott led the league in rushing last year by more than 100 yards, and by most fantasy predictors, he is expected to be near the top again. He gets to run on turf half the season (this makes a difference), has a great offensive line and, as the feature back for the Cowboys, is expected to receive as much usage as any player in the league.Saquon Barkley +450
Not only is he the most impressive athlete at the position, but Barkley may be the most impressive athlete in the league at any position. His weight-room accomplishments are legendary and this translates to acts of random amazement on the field. Barkley routinely turns 1-yard losses into 3-yard gains, and this adds up over the course of the season. He also has the speed to break some big ones.Derrick Henry +1400
Henry should further cement himself as the feature back in Tennessee after he finished the last three weeks of 2018 as the No. 1 fantasy back in the league. Dion Lewis has the skill set to steal some touches, but Henry is yet another athletic freak and one who can handle the pounding of an NFL season.Dalvin Cook +2000
Cook has battled injuries his entire career, but at his best he is one of the top running backs in the league. He is definitely one of the fastest and has proven throughout his career he can break the big one. Long runs rack up lots of yards in a hurry.Josh Jacobs +4000
Jacobs is a longshot, but it is starting to sound like he might win the feature-back role in Oakland. Head coach Jon Gruden is old school and should relish the opportunity to run the ball with a fresh, freakishly athletic new running back.Like to play team props? How about player props?
