Sports you can bet on during the COVID-19 crisis
As the world continues to grapple with COVID-19, professional sports leagues that have suspended play are now working on solutions to possibly resume their schedules this spring or summer.
The PGA Tour announced last week a revised schedule targeting a return for June 11 at the Charles Schwab Challenge. The NHL is reportedly exploring the possibility of resuming its regular season in July at neutral site arenas.
Meanwhile, in Germany, professional soccer could resume play as early as May 9. Germany is planning to ease restrictions put in place to limit the spread of COVID-19, but government approval is needed for the Bundesliga to get back underway behind closed doors. That approval could come next week, according to reports.
There are still a handful of leagues still operating, despite the pandemic, and there are still events for sports bettors to place wagers on at BetAmerica.
Belarus Premier League
The Belarus Premier League has continued with its schedule, gaining international attention as one of the few leagues still playing games while other, much more prominent soccer leagues, have temporarily suspended play due to the pandemic.
In addition to Belarus Premier League matches, the offering at BetAmerica has expanded to include Belarus First Division and Belarus Cup games.
Saturday’s schedule includes seven matches – three Premier League games and four First Division games. The action starts at 8:00 a.m. ET with Slavia Mozyr facing FC Minsk. Slavia Mozyr is favored to win the match with odds of +105 at BetAmerica.
Horse Racing
All three jewels of the Triple Crown have been postponed due to the pandemic, however, there is still horse racing in the United States and in Australia.
That includes events at Oaklawn Park, Gulfstream Park, and the Gold Coast and Canberra in Australia – all of which are available to wager on at BetAmerica.
BetAmerica Extra continues to provide a Pick of the Day for daily horse racing events in the U.S. and Australia.

PDC Darts at Home
Professional darts has been forced to undergo a temporary transformation during the pandemic.
Instead of taking place with massive crowds inside large halls, darts has continued with players competing against each other from the comfort of their own home via video.
There were six matches available to bet on at BetAmerica on Thursday.
Taiwan Basketball
The NBA has suspended play, however, there is Taiwan SBL hoops action available for wagering at BetAmerica.
Taiwan Beer is facing the Yulon Luxgen Dinos in the final series. Taiwan Beer was, as of Thursday afternoon, a six-point favorite for Friday morning’s game (5:00 a.m. ET).
Despite being the underdog for Friday’s showdown, Yulon Luxgen has taken a 2-0 series lead.
NFL Futures
The 2020 NFL Draft takes place this week, and BetAmerica featured a wide variety of prop bets leading up to the first round on Thursday.

While the draft concludes Saturday, there is no shortage of NFL and NCAA Football futures bets on site for the upcoming 2020-21 seasons.
The defending champion Kansas City Chiefs remain favorites to repeat next year, with Super Bowl outright odds of +550 followed by the Baltimore Ravens with odds of +700. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been on the move in recent weeks, too.
Just over a month after signing free agent quarterback and future Hall-of-Famer Tom Brady, the Buccaneers completed a trade Wednesday with the New England Patriots for tight end Rob Gronkowski, who will come out of retirement.
The list of football futures at BetAmerica has been expanded to include odds for the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year, Offensive Player of the Year, and Comeback Player of the Year.
To follow up on Gronkowski’s return, he is now favored to win Comeback Player of the Year, with odds of +250 at BetAmerica. Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was previously favored to win the award.
