Four more games in the College World Series are slated for Monday and Tuesday at TD Ameritrade Park. Watch the latest segment of "Sim or Her" above to find out how BetAmerica's computer simulation predicted Monday and Tuesday's games, and read below for a quick analysis on each matchup.
Monday, 2 p.m. ET, Texas Tech (+150) vs. Arkansas (-200)
Pick: Arkansas
Arkansas and Texas Tech battle it out in the elimination bracket, with one team heading home at the game's conclusion. On Saturday, Arkansas lost 1-0 in an upset by Florida State, while another underdog, Michigan, took down Texas Tech 5-3 over the weekend. It's hard to imagine a team that nearly won the CWS title last year losing so early in this year's tournament. Look for Arkansas to edge past Texas Tech.
Monday, 7 p.m. ET, Michigan (+135) vs. Florida State (-180)
Pick: Michigan
Up until the ninth inning Saturday, Florida State was tied with No. 5 seed Arkansas. Second baseman Nander De Sedas hit a sacrifice fly to right, allowing center fielder J.C. Flowers to touch home plate and secure a win for the Seminoles. Michigan had an easier time of Texas Tech. The Wolverines scored one run in the first inning, three in the second and one more in the seventh. Texas Tech never took the lead and fell 5-3 to land in the elimination bracket. Michigan is the better pitching team and should
beat Florida State on Monday night.
Tuesday, 2 p.m. ET, Auburn (+105) vs. Louisville (-145)
Pick: Louisville
Louisville let Vanderbilt start the scoring early Sunday, as the Commodores' leadoff man Austin Martin hit a home run on the first pitch he saw in the bottom of the first. Louisville tied the game in the fifth, but Martin again homered with a runner on base, lifting Vanderbilt to a 3-1 lead in the seventh, which they maintained the rest of the game. In the Sunday night game, Auburn nearly beat Mississippi State but fell apart in the ninth. Up 4-1, Auburn allowed the Bulldogs to score two runs before third baseman
Edouard Julien made an errant throw to allow Mississippi State to tie the game. Before Auburn could catch its breath and take the game into extra innings, the Bulldogs' Marshall Gilbert hit a single to knock in the winning run and end the game. The contest should be close on Tuesday, but Louisville will
take the W.
Tuesday, 7 p.m. ET, Mississippi State (+110) vs. Vanderbilt (-150)
Pick: Vanderbilt
Mississippi State almost ended up in the elimination bracket, but the Bulldogs pulled off their 28th come-from-behind win of the year. The second-favorite to win the World Series now faces the top dog to win it all—Vanderbilt. The Commodores looked poised throughout the entirety of their game against Louisville on Sunday. Drake Fellows pitched seven innings and allowed one run on seven hits, with six strikeouts and a walk.
Vanderbilt should top Mississippi State on Tuesday night.
