Wednesday English Premier League Free Picks
Heavy favorites loom in today's English Premier League mismatches...
These aren't the most scintillating matchups that the EPL could put together, but that's hardly their fault. There is, however, one underdog worth backing in today's slate. Read on to find out more!#4 Arsenal -260 over #10 Bournemouth +700 Emirates Stadium, 2:30 EST
Arsenal are looking to cling to their #4 spot on the table as they meet up with Bournemouth on Wednesday.Arsenal are not tapped to stay in 4th and are gunning to prove everyone wrong. They’ve come away with 4 wins of their last 5 league outings and while they’ve not been contentious opponents, The Gunners had injury to deal with and still came out on top
The Cherries were off to a strong start in the beginning of the season but have wilted to 11 losses of their last 17 league matches. To further make this team a wet blanket, they’ve not won on the road in 8 games.
The Gunners will be taking aim knowing they’ve beaten their visitors in 6 of out of their last 9 competitive matchups leaving The Cherries with only 1 win. Arsenal has yet to be shut-out against Bournemouth and Wednesday is not the day they’ll start.
Arsenal will take this and Gollum the heck out of that precious 4th spot. Arsenal to win 2-1
#2 Liverpool -365 over #7 Watford +1100 Anfield Stadium, 3pm EST
Liverpool will have to try and hang on to that #2 place table spot without Roberto Firmino. They’ve faced 4 draws of their last 5 competitive outings and have been scoreless in their past two games. Perspective is everything and Liverpool, while managing to drop a lot of points, are still the only team that have one loss to their name.On the opposite end, Watford are enjoying an uptick with a big 5-1 win over Cardiff at their backs. Watford has a two day rest and a nice 10 game run away from home working for them with 15 points coming from their last 7 away league matchups.
Watford is going to have a lot to say for the top-table spot if they rip this away from Liverpool and while Liverpool will still be sub-par, they’ll walk away with a 3-1 win
#3 Tottenham +215 over #6 Chelsea +135 Stamford Bridge - 3 pm EST
The drama swirling around Chelsea leading up to this match is semi-shakespearean. Goalkeeper, Arrizabalaga’s refusal to leave the pitch for substitution on Sunday’s game against Man City, all but caused the loss. The question being will he be held back by head coach Maurizio Sarri on Wednesday’s game?If Chelsea are making a claim to climb the table and close the three-point gap out of the top four, this is their only chance to do it. Their recent success could all be undone if they fail at Stamford further pitting players against coach (or so say the rumors).
For Tottenham their loss to Burnley on Saturday devastated their chances at a League title and will have to rely on Man City and Liverpool falling into a slump in the next two months. Kane being back in full form is sure to help and Christian Eriksen is a hot scorer against Premier League teams on Wednesday’s, specifically (7 goals and 8 assists over 17 games).
Chelsea has one loss out of 32 home matches against the Spurs, but Tottenham has won 3 of the last 4 League outings with the Blues.
Both these teams have pros and cons going into the game. Tottenham will use their healthy roster to fuel their confidence. The Blues are left to deal with their sideline-soap-opera, which could invariably affect the team.
Tottenham will take this at Stamford Bridge 2-0.
#1 Manchester City -720 over #9 West Ham United +1800 Etihad Stadium - 3 pm EST
Man City will be coming in hot with an EFL Title won on Sunday against Chelsea. West Ham coach, Pelegrini is going to face a tough challenge winning over a hardware-toting City.Closing the points gap from seven to one on Liverpool in a matter of weeks bodes well for the title chasing club. City has closed on their last 6 games and 14-of-15 across all competitions. They have been plagued by injury and even with the inspiring depth of the squad, they’ve lost Fernandinho for at least the next four games.
West Ham have not fared with recent matches against City but have taken points off the big six table toppers. However they’ve haven’t beaten a top-six team since 2015. The Hammers are 0-4-1 in their last five matches on the road and facing Man City should be an earthquake of a confidence shaker.
Manchester City will take this at home 3-1, further bolstering their run for an EPL title.
