Tottenham vs. Liverpool: Premier League betting odds, preview, and pick
Two of the Premier League’s most in-form teams go head-to-head on Sunday in London as Tottenham Hotspur host Liverpool. Manchester City are the only side to have picked up more points in their last eight games than Spurs and Liverpool, with the former rediscovering some form under coach Antonio Conte.
Liverpool need to win to keep the pressure on Manchester City in the race for the title, while Tottenham are in a battle of their own – four points off Arsenal in the last Champions League spot, but with three games in hand over their North London rivals.
Conte has steadied the ship
When Antonio Conte took over at Tottenham, Spurs had lost five of their last seven league games and failed to score in four of them. They’d picked up six points from a possible 21 and looked in disarray defensively and going forward.
But Antonio Conte is one of the best in the business, and the former Premier League winning manager has got Tottenham back to winning ways. In his first game in charge, they drew 0-0 away to Everton, but since then have beaten Leeds, Brentford, and Norwich, scoring seven and conceding just once.
Their problem remains performing against the very top teams. Against sides below them this year they have a 7-1-1 record, but against teams above them they are 1-4. An opening day 1-0 win over Manchester City was against the run of play, and since then they’ve lost 3-0 at home to Chelsea and Manchester United, while losing on the road to London rivals Arsenal and West Ham.
On repeat. 🔁

Spurs’ recent record against Liverpool is woeful (1-9-2 in their last 12 head-to-heads in all competitions) but they are well rested having not played a game since Dec. 5 due to COVID-19 cancellations. Liverpool have had to play three times in that two-week break for Tottenham, so the home side should certainly be fitter coming into Sunday’s clash.
Liverpool are on a red-hot run
Liverpool were stunned on Nov. 7 by West Ham, as David Moyes’ men handed the Reds their first defeat all season. But Jurgen Klopp’s side have shown plenty of character by bouncing back from that loss and going on a run of eight wins in a row in all competitions. It’s a mightily impressive streak which includes a 4-0 hammering of Arsenal, a 4-1 win away to Everton in the Merseyside Derby, and two huge Champions League wins at home to Porto and away to AC Milan.
Going back to mid-October, Liverpool have now won 13 of 15 games as the Reds aim for domestic and European success. Mo Salah has been the unstoppable force behind Liverpool’s season, scoring a total of 22 goals in 23 games in all competitions. He has scored five in Liverpool’s last six league games and has a total of 15 in 17 league games, making him a clear favorite to win his third Premier League Golden Boot.

The last time Liverpool failed to score in a league match was back in March, so goals are certainly not an issue, while defensively they have four clean sheets in their last six league games. Klopp’s team are purring and haven’t lost to Tottenham in four years. They won this fixture at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium 3-1 last year, and dominated the shot count 13-3.

Can't Stop Klopp
It’s hard to see anyone stopping Liverpool in their current form, despite Conte’s good work at Tottenham. Spurs recent good results have all come against teams in the bottom eight, and this test at home to Liverpool will be considerably harder. Historically, Liverpool have owned Tottenham and can keep that run going on Sunday. Mo Salah’s incredible form isn’t slowing up and he’s a great bet to include in a Same Game Combo.
Over 2.5 goals is a staple for both of these teams in recent weeks, and while Liverpool have improved defensively, Tottenham rarely fail to find the net against the Reds despite defeat.
Score prediction: Tottenham 1-3 Liverpool
Tottenham vs. Liverpool: Over 3.5 goals (+165)
Same Game Combo: Liverpool to win, Over 3.5 goals, and Mo Salah to score first (+1200)
