Premier League gameweek 8: The best player prop bets for Salah, Werner, and Iheanacho
With the conclusion of the international break, domestic soccer is set to resume this weekend, and the top eight teams in the Premier League are separated by four points.
While the first matches back from an international window often see low-scoring affairs, we have identified the three best player props available on TwinSpires!
Watford vs. Liverpool: Mohamed Salah to score (-120)
Just one point back of Chelsea atop the table, Liverpool will travel to face a Watford side that has conceded 10 goals in seven matches this season and has lost four of those. Watford has also failed to keep a clean sheet this season.
Meanwhile, the Reds have scored more than twice per match, in large part to Mohamed Salah, who has been involved in nine of their 17 league goals this campaign.
Watford knows all too well what Salah can do. In his last six matches against the Hornets, Salah has scored in four, for a staggering tally of eight goals. This includes a four-goal haul in 2018, when Liverpool defeated Watford, 5-0, at Anfield. The Reds have won four and drawn one in their six meetings since 2017 and are heavily favored again Saturday.
Salah has scored in each of his last seven appearances for Liverpool, across the Premier League and Champions League this season, with eight goals in that stretch. A score Saturday would give him an eight-match scoring streak for the first time in his European career.
Side with Salah in this prop, and if you want to take the odds to +112, place a Wincast bet of Salah to score with a Liverpool win.
Leicester City vs. Manchester United: Kelechi Iheanacho to score (+195)
Leicester started the season with a single-striker setup and has struggled out of the gate, with three losses from the first five matches in league play.
While Leicester has drawn its last two, with two goals in each, the Foxes have just one win. However, in their 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace before the break, manager Brendan Rodgers changed from a 4-3-3 formation to a 4-4-2, with Kelechi Iheanacho in partnership with Jamie Vardy.
Iheanacho is available following an injury scare. "He’s 100 per cent fine." James Justin "won’t be too long" and he could be in and around the group by the next international break. "He’ll be a huge plus for us." Wesley Fofana is ahead of schedule. #LCFC

Vardy was helped by Iheanacho’s presence, and both men found the back of the net in the draw. Now, after a slight injury scare with the Nigerian national team, Iheanacho is expected to start on Saturday against Manchester United, potentially in a 3-5-2 formation.
This is important, as United has a 29-match unbeaten streak in the Premier League away from home but will be heavily tested with both of its starting center backs, Harry Maguire and Raphael Varane, out with injury. United has also kept a clean sheet in just two of its 11 matches across all competitions, has conceded in its last seven matches, and has not won a league match in nearly a month.
Iheanacho scored 12 goals in Leicester’s final 17 matches last season, and only one other player in the Premier League tallied more shots than his 50 attempts during that stretch. If he starts, his strength and aerial presence will cause problems for the duo of Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly, and his price of +195 is too good to pass up.
Brentford vs. Chelsea: Timo Werner to score (+200)
After he struggled to find his form with his move to Chelsea, Werner is finally playing his best football.
Much of his struggles have been with finishing chances. When he would get the ball in the net, the offside flag was up, and when he found himself legally with a terrific opportunity, he failed to convert.
However, Werner scored a brace this week, in Germany’s 4-0 win over Northern Macedonia, which came on the heels of his goal in Chelsea’s 3-1 victory over Southampton.
While fellow forward Romelu Lukaku has grabbed the headlines, he also garners the attention of opposing defenses. That has allowed Werner to register eight shots in Chelsea’s last two matches, versus just two for Lukaku.

While shot totals can be misleading, seven of Werner’s eight shots in those two matches came inside the penalty area, with four against Southampton on goal. With Christian Pulisic and Hakim Ziyech both out, Werner is almost certain to start against a Brentford side that, while playing well, is newly promoted and has conceded four goals in its last two contests.
Given his propensity to shoot on sight and his rise in form, Werner is a terrific bet to score this weekend.
