Premier League Gameweek 7: The best player prop bets for Pogba, Lukaku, and Salah
We’re already 20% through this year’s Premier League season and there are six teams separated by a single point.
The top four features 2019-2020 title winner Liverpool, Manchester City (which has won three of the last four crowns), a resurgent Chelsea (the current kings of Europe), and of course Cristiano Ronaldo and Manchester United.
It has been a fascinating start to the season and we have a brilliant slate of games for the weekend. Here are the best player props from those matchups.
Manchester United vs. Everton: Paul Pogba to score a goal (+500)
Paul Pogba may be one of the biggest names at Old Trafford, but the man who signed for €105 million five years ago has had his star dulled a little.
Part of that can be explained by Ronaldo's arrival, but Pogba also holds the title of being the Premier League player who has had the most shots this season without a score.
So why back him now? Because a regression to the mean suggests Pogba is going to strike gold soon.
Since his return in 2016, Pogba’s shot per goal stats look like this — a goal every nine shots (2016-2017), a goal every 13 shots (2017-2018), a goal every eight shots (2018-2019), a goal every 22 shots (2019-2020), and a goal every 10 shots (2020-2021). The 2019-2020 season is a outlier, as Pogba was plagued with injuries, but if you ignore that, you can see his average is consistent.
This season, the Frenchman has already had 15 shots without a goal, so he must be due.

United has scored 16 goals in the last eight league games against Everton and will keep that run going Saturday.
Chelsea vs. Southampton: Romelu Lukaku to score a goal (-121)

It’s been a tough week for Chelsea fans, who have had to watch their team lose two huge games.
The Blues went down 1-0 to Manchester City in the league last week, then lost by the same scoreline to Juventus in a massive midweek European clash.
The most worrying part of those 180 minutes is that Thomas Tuchel’s side only had one shot on target, but that should change this weekend.

Romelu Lukaku will get to feast on Southampton, as Chelsea aims to turn the tide. There is no team the Belgium striker likes to play against more, as he has nine goals in 12 Premier League games against the Saints and has averaged a goal every 99 minutes.
Lukaku has four goals in eight games since his return to Stamford Bridge, and Chelsea is the deadliest team in the top flight this season, with a 15% conversion rate.
Bet them to get back to winning ways, with Lukaku hitting the back of the net.
Liverpool vs. Manchester City: Mohamed Salah to score a goal (+155)

The biggest Premier League match of the weekend is Liverpool and Manchester City at Anfield. These two teams have combined to win the last four league titles and occupy the top two spots in the division.
The man who could decide this clash is Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah. He has bagged five goals in six games this season, with 25 shots and 15 shots on target. No player in the league has had as many shots or as many shots on target, and Salah has been at his best.
Jurgen Klopp’s men are the highest scorers in the division and average 23.5 shots per match, which is more than any other team. The Reds have scored at least three goals in each of their last six matches in all competitions and have flashed Klopp’s classic "Rock and Roll Football."
Salah has three goals in his last four games against City and six goals in 12 games against them. There is no better man for the big occasion.
