Premier League Gameweek 3: The best player prop bets for Vardy, Jimenez and more
There’s rarely a quiet week in football. We’re not even out of August yet and Arsenal are in the relegation zone, West Ham are top of the league, Harry Kane has completed a dramatic u-turn and will stay at Tottenham, all while the two Manchester clubs scrap it out to sign Cristiano Ronaldo.
The rollercoaster of a season is set to continue with another stacked slate of action this week, and three players who have an eye for goal are well worth backing to get on the scoresheet again.
West Ham vs. Crystal Palace: Michail Antonio to score a goal (+106)
Not many people would have picked West Ham to be the league’s leading scorers after the first two games of the season, but not many people thought Kanye West would run for President either. The world sometimes is a little unpredictable. The Hammers have gotten off to a flyer, and have scored eight goals in two games, thanks in no small part to Michail Antonio, who has three to his name.
Antonio has averaged 5.5 shots per game this season – ranking second in the league only behind Romelu Lukaku – so he’s clearly full of confidence when he gets the chance to shoot. David Moyes’ men average 18.5 shots per game as well (third highest in the division), so they are creating plenty of chances for Antonio to add to his tally.
What a celebration 😂😂

Palace have allowed 13.5 shots per game in their two matches this season, and have been positively underwhelming under new coach Patrick Vieira. A 3-0 defeat to Chelsea and a 0-0 draw with new boys Brentford weren’t great results, and in mid-week they crashed out of the league cup in a 1-0 defeat to Watford.
West Ham have scored in their last 14 consecutive games against Crystal Palace, so it wouldn't be surprising to see the Eagles concede at last once this weekend, with Antonio the man in form to find the back of the net.
Norwich City vs. Leicester City: Jamie Vardy to score a goal (+143)
Norwich’s baptism by fire back in the Premier League continues this weekend as they host Leicester. The Canaries may have won the championship last season, but back in the top flight they’ve lost 3-0 to Liverpool and 5-0 to Man City in the run-up to this clash. No team has conceded more goals, but equally no team has had as tough a start.
Leicester now get to have a pop at Norwich and right some wrongs after they were hammered 4-1 by West Ham on Monday. The Foxes played 50 minutes of that game with 10 men and conceded three goals after the sending off, so take Leicester to bounce back here – in particular Jamie Vardy.

Vardy scored in the opening game of the season as Leicester won 1-0 against Wolves, and 43% of the Foxes' shots this season have come from the 34-year-old star, who is at the centre of all their good attacking play. Last season Vardy contributed 22% of Leicester’s goals, and the year before that was a huge 34%.
He is the focal point of Leicester’s attack and should be well fancied to get another goal this weekend against a Norwich side who rank fourth in the league for most shots conceded on average per game, with 17.5.
Wolves vs. Man United: Raul Jimenez to score a goal (+235)
Wolves | Draw | Man United |

It might raise a few eyebrows siding with a Wolves player against Manchester United, but Wolves have been playing better than the results suggest. They’ve had a tough start to the season having to play Leicester and Tottenham, and were only narrowly beaten 1-0 in both – results that could have gone very different if they’d had a little more rub of the green. In both games, Wolves won the shot count by a considerable margin, so much so that they rank second in the league for shots per game with 21 – despite the fact they are yet to score.
Jimenez has been at the centre of a lot of Wolves’ good play, and has had an average of four shots per game in those two matches and is good value to find the net on Sunday.
Since being promoted back to the Premier League, Wolves have scored in all three of their league home games against Manchester United, who showed their Jekyll and Hyde side already this season. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men looked untouchable as they dismantled Leeds 5-1 on the opening weekend, but then looked slow and sloppy as they stumbled in a 1-1 draw away to Southampton seven days ago.
Wolves are a much tougher prospect than the Saints, and can trouble the Red Devils.
