Premier League Gameweek 13: The best player prop bets for Ronaldo, Mane, and Aubameyang

There were a monster 36 goals in the slate of 10 Premier League games last week. Not only did we dodge any 0-0 draws, but we were treated to two 3-3 draws, a 4-0 win for Liverpool, and a 4-1 defeat for Manchester United, which ended up costing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer his job.

80% of games last week featured Over 2.5 goals, and we’re hoping for more of the same this week with these three great goal scorer prop bets.

Arsenal vs. Newcastle: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to score a goal (-120)

Arsenal have an incredible record over Newcastle – winning 17 of their 18 matches in all competitions over the last decade. That is pure dominance. One player that has particularly enjoyed facing Newcastle in recent years is Aubameyang, who has scored in each of the last five fixtures against the Magpies.

The Gunners' star striker has four goals in his last nine games, and will enjoy being back at the Emirates Stadium this weekend. He’s consistently had a better conversion rate in front of a home crowd, and this season has buried four of 20 shots he’s had at the Emirates.

Newcastle have the worst defense in the league, conceding 27 goals and failing to keep a clean sheet this year. In five games against teams in the top eight this season, the Magpies have conceded a whopping 16 goals – an average of 3.2 goals per game – something that does not bode well against Arsenal.

Only Liverpool and Manchester City have had more attempts on goal at home than Arsenal (16.8), who can kick start the weekend’s action by adding more pressure on relegation-threatened Newcastle.

Liverpool vs. Southampton: Sadio Mane to score a goal (+110)

Sadio Mane has a revenge game of sorts against his former club when Liverpool take on Southampton on Saturday, and it’s a fixture he has historically loved no matter which jersey he’s wearing. He’s scored five goals in 11 Liverpool vs. Southampton games – three when he was with the Saints and a couple with Liverpool.

His two Liverpool goals have come in the last four games against Southampton, and he’s a great bet to find the net again.

Mane has six goals in his last nine league games for Liverpool and is on track for one of his best seasons in front of goal, finding the net every 143 minutes in the league. He’s already made history this season by becoming just the third player to score 100 goals without any of them being penalties.

Liverpool are the league’s highest scorers (35 goals), and have more shots per game (19.5) than anyone else. Southampton have kept three clean sheets in their last five games, but all those matches were against teams below them in the table, and a trip to Anfield should bring them crashing back to reality.

Chelsea vs. Manchester United: Cristiano Ronaldo to score a goal (+225)

While high-flying, top of the table Chelsea are worthy favorites to pick up a home win against a Manchester United side that sacked Ole Gunnar Solskjaer a week ago, there is a great reason to back Cristiano Ronaldo to find the back of the net.

Ronaldo’s late strike on Tuesday night in United’s 2-0 win away to Villarreal took the Portuguese legend to 799 career goals. CR7 just needs one more to take him to that magical 800 mark, and it would be no surprise to see him bag one in the biggest match of the weekend.

He has 10 goals in 14 games since his return to Manchester United, and is the focal point of their attack, with an average of 3.6 shots per league game this season. He’s averaged a goal every 116 minutes back at United, which is remarkable given the Red Devils’ struggles this year and the fact he’s only a few months away from turning 37.

Ronaldo hasn’t lost a step and with this massive milestone just a single goal away, he’s got even more motivation to find the back of the net and make history.
