Manchester United, AC Milan meet in International Champions Cup
The International Champions Cup reaches its conclusion this week, and the winner of the preseason tournament will be decided Saturday, when Manchester United faces AC Milan in Cardiff.
Manchester United is off to a good start in the ICC, with wins in its first two matches against Inter Milan and Tottenham Hotspur. The Red Devils could win the ICC if they defeat AC Milan by more than three goals, but with the Premier League season beginning next weekend, you likely won't see a team that employs all its starters for the entire time. Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær will likely continue to rotate players to see who he can rely on once the Premier League season starts. With the future of players like Romelu Lukaku and Paul Pogba at Old Trafford uncertain, he will need to see who can move into the starting 11. Marcus Rashford looks to be the man up front, while David de Gea will get one final start to sharpen up his skills in goal before the league starts back up. Expect Jesse Lingard to get more run as well for United.
AC Milan has a few new transfers in, including Theo Hernandez, Rafael Leão and Franck Kessié. Milan is looking to get much younger as it continues the rebuilding process. Gianluigi Donnarumma is the future of Italy's goalkeeping core, and André Silva will be counted on to have a big year for the Rossoneri. To keep Manchester United from going home with the ICC trophy, AC Milan will need to play very collected soccer on defense and pick its chances to strike on offense.
Milan will put up a good fight, but United will be too much. The Red Devils will win by two, but it won't be enough to claim the ICC trophy.
The English Premier League is right around the corner, but at BetAmerica, soccer action is always available. Check out all the summer matchups here.
