Euro 2020: Wales vs. Denmark betting odds, preview, and pick
Wales and Denmark both have to be delighted to be in the bottom half of the draw of the knockout round for the 2021 European Championship, which looks wide open. Italy, Belgium, Spain, and France are all in the top half, while Germany and England have to face off in the first round, which gifts both teams a route to the final they could only have dreamed of.
The Welsh finished runners-up, behind Italy, in Group A, courtesy of having a better goal differential than Switzerland. A 2-0 win against Turkey in the second game was crucial for the Welsh, as was the 74th-minute equalizer against the Swiss, which meant Rob Page’s men went through.
Denmark had a far rockier road. After the terribly frightening incident with Christian Eriksen and the forced continuation of the game that evening, the Danes lost 1-0 to Finland, before two moments of Kevin De Bruyne magic saw them lose, 2-1, to Belgium. However, a 4-1 thumping of Russia in Copenhagen in the final game saw them qualify as runners-up via goal differential.
Deadly Denmark in full flow
Watching this Danish team attack has been a thing of beauty in Euro 2020, and Italy is the only side with more attempted shots than the Danes. Denmark averages 19.7 attempts on goal per match and no other team hits the target as often, as the Danes having an average of seven shots on target per match.
Wales has allowed 19.7 shots per match in this tournament, with Turkey the only team more vulnerable than the Welsh.

Over 7.5 shots on target in the match at -125, as well as Denmark Over 4.5 shots on target at +100, look like solid wagers.
Welsh duo pulls the strings
But Wales has every chance to get something out of this matchup, and it’s likely to be through Aaron Ramsey or Gareth Bale. Bale has set up three of the last four Welsh goals, including a lovely pass for Ramsey to slot home against Turkey.

If there is to be any Welsh magic, it will come from those two star players, and it’s worth taking a chance on either to score at +175 and either to assist at +300.
Wales vs. Denmark prediction
This has the potential to be a wide-open match, with quarterfinal against either the Netherlands or Czech Republic at stake.
Denmark has won the shot count in all three of its group matches and will likely lead it again against Wales, but the Danes also conceded in all three, so they aren’t as watertight as their pre-tournament statistics suggested.
Wales has shown it shouldn’t be underestimated and proved that in Euro 2016, with a shocking 3-1 quarterfinal win over Belgium. Five years later, the Welsh will aim to pull off a similar coup.
Backing both teams to score at +123 and Over 2.5 goals at +160 looks strong, given how open this game could become.
However, the Danes look too strong for the Welsh, no matter how spirited the dragon, and a 2-1 win for Denmark at +800 is our prediction.
Euro 2020 pick: Denmark 2, Wales 1 (+800)
