England vs. Denmark: The best player props for Euro 2020

Denmark and England are both just 90 minutes away from a European Championship final in Wembley Stadium. For England they have become the hottest favorites for a tournament in the country’s history and are aiming for their first ever European Championship final. For the Danes it has been a tournament that started with tragic adversity but has evolved into a passionate story of dedication and loyalty and sees the 2020 generation trying to emulate the shock of Denmark’s win in Euro 92.

England haven’t conceded a goal in the tournament and after thumping Ukraine 4-0 in the quarter final, and come into this game at -143 in the 90-minute betting and -286 to make the final. Denmark saw off surprise package Czech Republic in the quarters, and are +460 to win in regulation and +220 to go through.

These are the three best prop bets ahead of this huge semi-final clash.

Harry Kane Over/Under 2.5 shots

It’s almost been two completely different tournaments for England’s star striker Harry Kane. In the three group games he was essentially anonymous, managing just five shots, of which only 20% were on target and his conversion rate was 0%. There were questions being asked of his form and fitness, but he answered all the critics in the knock-out stages. In those two games he’s also managed five shots on target, but his accuracy has gone up to 80% and his conversion rate is 60% as he’s suddenly added three goals to his Euro 2020 tally.

That now puts him just two away from joining Patrik Schick and Cristiano Ronaldo on five goals in the race to be the tournament’s top scorer. He’s also just two away from being England’s all-time top scorer at major tournaments. Those personal incentives should help drive Kane on and he’ll be keen to add another goal to his tally against Denmark, so back him to take at least three shots at Kasper Schmeichel’s goal.

Luke Shaw to give an assist

Luke Shaw didn’t play in England’s opener against Croatia, but since being brought into Gareth Southgate’s starting XI for game two, he’s been one of England’s biggest threats. His attacking play down the left-hand side and dangerous set pieces have constantly provided a threat for the Three Lions and the stats back that up.

He has made eight key passes at Euro 2020 – more than twice as many as any other England player. Only 14 players in the entire tournament have made more key passes than Shaw, who has three assists already. He was a key part of both goals against Germany, and bagged a couple of assists against Ukraine. Southgate will be looking to his wingbacks to again provide a threat out wide against Denmark, and Shaw is a tempting bet to chalk up another assist.

Denmark over/Under 3.5 shots on target

Denmark’s attacking flair has been no secret in Euro 2020 so far. They’ve averaged 17.2 shots per game (only Italy have managed more), and the 7.2 shots on target per game they are averaging is a tournament high. Denmark have had at least five shots on target in every single game.

England, however, have been resolute at the back, allowing just 8.4 shots against them per game and only two shots on target. Germany were the only side to have more than two shots on target against the Three Lions, and they really should have had four had Thomas Muller not dragged that now-famous effort wide of the post.

Despite England’s good stat line, they’ve benefitted from playing weaker teams. Four of their five opponents rank outside the top 10 teams at this tournament for shots on target per game, with Germany (fourth) the only exception. Denmark are a different beast going forward and can hit the Over on this prop.
