Euro 2020: France vs. Germany betting odds, preview, and pick
Group F is the "Group of Death" in this year’s UEFA European Championships, with reigning World Champions France, reigning European Champions Portugal and heavyweights Germany all in together battling for top spot.
In one of the best matches of the group stage, France take on Germany in Munich with Les Bleus narrowly favored to win.
France Flying Forward
Karim Benzema has been recalled to the France squad after some time in exile, and that only strengthens an incredible array of attacking options for coach Didier Deschamps. The World Champions have won 15 of their 19 games over the last two years, losing just once in a surprise defeat to Finland in a friendly. In competitive competition the French only dropped five points in Euro 2020 qualifying, and were undefeated in the Nations League.

Going forward, Benzema joins Antoine Griezmann and Kylian Mbappe in a fearsome front three with Olivier Giroud also in the mix. France have scored in 89% of those 19 games in the last two years, and hit the net in 14 of their 16 games across qualifying and the Nations League.
Germany’s Goal-Getters
Germany haven’t been in quite as impressive form, although goals certainly aren’t a problem for Die Mannschaft. The Germans were dumped out of the World Cup in embarrassing fashion in Russia three years ago, and since then they’ve been trying to rediscover their best form.

Over the last two years they’ve won just 10 of their 19 matches but have found the net in 95% of those games. The only match they failed to score in was a disastrous 6-0 defeat to Spain in the Nations League in November. But like France, Joachim Low has a fantastic attacking trio with Thomas Muller, Serge Gnabry, and Leroy Sane an exciting three-pronged forward line.
Defensive Disasters
Although both teams have huge strength and depth going forward, the defense is a different story. France have conceded in 47% of their 19 matches in the last two years, while Germany have been alternating between playing three or four at the back and have conceded in 63% of their matches in that same time.
Hot-shot Griezmann is a great goalscoring bet
Antoine Griezmann is fourth in France’s all-time leading scorer list, and he can add to that tally against a questionable German defense. Griezmann has scored in four of France’s last five matches and going back further has nine goals in his last 15 games for Les Bleus.
He finished the season on a high for Barcelona with eight goals in his last 13 games, and if he continues that deadly run, he can prey on a weak German backline. He’s +280 to score anytime, which looks very tempting.
Expect a thriller
The World Champs are one of the favourites for this tournament and are worthy of that title. They should be able to see off the Germans here in a thriller with both teams finding the net at -120 and over 2.5 goals in the match at +110.
