EPL game of the week: Wolverhampton vs. Sheffield United

The English Premier League matchup of the week involves two teams in unlikely places in the table, as Wolverhampton Wanderers host Sheffield United in a battle for fifth place.

Wolves will rely heavily on Jiménez, Neves and Traoré

Wolves enter this matchup in fifth place in the EPL with 19 points, and they'll look to gain some ground on the top four with a win. Raúl Jiménez leads Wolves with six goals, and Rúben Neves and Adama Traoré have two goals each. They are the players Wolves rely upon to provide scoring, but that has also been their main issue this season.

They haven’t scored more than two goals in a game, so they will hope their defense, which has only allowed more than two goals in their two losses, can continue to be effective at shutting down the competition. Rui Patricio is a solid goalkeeper who has been dependable all season long. If Wolves can capitalize on some scoring chances, they have a great chance of winning.

Goals have been hard to come by for Sheffield United

Sheffield United, in sixth place with 18 points, also doesn’t score a lot of goals. Lys Mousset (four goals) and John Lundstram (three) have provided seven of the club's 16 goals this season.

Sheffield United’s defense is led by veteran Phil Jagielka, and Oliver Norwood should be the guy commanding the middle for the Blades. If they can limit Wolves’ chances and play within their shape, they should be able to create some chances.

Prediction: Draw (+240)

Both Wolves and Sheffield United need to capitalize on scoring chances, as they don’t create that many and they aren’t the best at finishing. There will be a couple goals, but ultimately both teams will settle for a 1-1 draw (+540).
