England vs. Germany: The best player prop bets for Euro 2020
Old enemies England and Germany lock horns again at Wembley Stadium in the Last 16 of Euro 2020, and it is set to be a thrilling occasion. 25 years on from Euro 96 when Gareth Southgate missed a penalty at Wembley in the semi-final against the Germans, he now coaches England into another knock-out tie against their greatest foe.
England got to this stage by topping Group D and going unbeaten, while Germany managed to get through the Group of Death, finishing second to France, but ahead of Portugal. There’s no doubt which side has had the tougher route to this stage, but the bottom of the draw has opened up and whoever wins here would be hot favorites to make the final.
Kai Havertz Over/Under 1.5 Shots
The star in Germany’s attack has been Kai Havertz. Chelsea’s second-most expensive signing got the winner in the Champions League Final this season and has continued that good form into Euro 2020, scoring against Portugal and Hungary.

Germany averaged 10 shots per game in the group, with Havertz leading the team with nine efforts on goal. That’s four more attempts than any other player in the squad. He is brimming with confidence and can get at an England defence that allowed 5.7 shots per game in the group stage.
Pick: Over 0.5 shots (-134)
Leroy Sane Over/Under 0.5 Shots on Target
Sane made 32 appearances for Bayern Munich this season and bagged just six goals – his worst return in a full season since his debut campaign with Manchester City in 2016. It’s been a difficult season for the attacker, who is struggling in a national jersey as well, not least because of his mixed relationship with coach Joachim Low.
Lothar Matthäus criticizes Leroy Sané: "I took a closer look at him while warming up and if you watch Kimmich before the game for comparison, it's almost a different sport in terms of body language. So maybe the coach doesn't like his attitude and prefers others over him" [Sky] pic.twitter.com/NMdhhbTNIB

Previously dropped from the World Cup squad in 2018, Sane is back in the fold now but has only managed 108 minutes at Euro 2020. He started the game versus Hungary, but only managed a combined 18 minutes against Portugal and France.
In that time, he has had just one attempt at goal and that was off target. I’d rather bet against Sane here.
Pick: Under 0.5 Shots on Target (-137)
Mason Mount Over/Under 1.5 Shots
Mason Mount has averaged two shots per game in the two matches he’s played in this tournament, although he missed the clash with the Czech Republic because of COVID-19 protocols. It’s worth keeping an eye on his status pre-match, but if he returns to the starting line-up, he is a good bet to have a pop at Manuel Neuer’s goal.
No player on England has averaged as many shots per game as the Chelsea man, who also averaged 2.3 shots per game for his club in the league this year. England have only had 18 shots in this competition, and have been roundly criticized for it. Now, against a German side that has conceded five times in three games, there is an impetus to go for the goal.
Pick: Over 1.5 Shots (-167)
Raheem Sterling Over/Under 0.5 Shots on Target
While England’s attack has somewhat failed to spark, the one bright point has been Raheem Sterling. The young winger came into this tournament under big pressure after a low-key season for Man City, but he’s answered those questions emphatically by scoring England’s only two goals of the campaign.
Sterling 🔥

He does it again! #ENG take the lead courtesy of a Raheem Sterling goal.
He’s now scored twice in his last three outings at Wembley. As it stands, England will finish top of the group.

He’s also the only man in the England squad to have more than one shot on target in Euro 2020. Sterling has three. He averaged 2.3 shots per game for City in the Premier League this season, and averaged 0.9 shots on target per game. He’s stepped up for the Three Lions as Harry Kane has gone off the boil and it would be a surprise if he didn’t test Neuer at least once in this match.
Pick: Over 0.5 Shots on Target (-177)
