Bundesliga picks: Thomas Muller to score for Bayern Munich
It’s another action-packed weekend in the Bundesliga, with Bayern Munich continuing to close in on another league championship, and clubs like Dortmund and RB Leipzig hoping to keep their faint title hopes alive.
Last week was a difficult one for our Matchday 27 picks. We’re all about redemption this week, and we once again fancy three wagers available at BetAmerica for Saturday’s slate of games.
Let’s dig in.
Bayern Munich vs. Fortuna Dusseldorf
Bayern Munich | Draw | Dusseldorf |
---|
-1275 | +1100 | +2975 |
Bayern Munich hasn’t missed a beat since the Bundesliga returned. They’ve won three consecutive games, including two clean sheets.
Bayern Munich is a huge favorite to defeat Fortuna Dusseldorf on Saturday, and there is really no value in picking them to win straight up at odds of -1275 at BetAmerica.
Dusseldorf is still facing possible relegation, despite a nice re-start to their season, with a win and draw in the last three matches, and only one loss in the last 11 games across all competitions dating back to the start of February.
But this is Bayern Munich they’re facing Saturday, and the top team in the league has continued to dominate as it moves closer to clinching yet another league title.

Expect some goals from Bayern Munich in this match, and that should provide an opportunity or two for Thomas Muller to get in on the act. With odds of +120 to score at any time during the match, that’s not a bad bet.
Pick: Thomas Muller Anytime Goal Scorer (+120)
FSV Mainz vs. TSG Hoffenheim
Bayern Munich | Draw | Dusseldorf |
---|
-1275 | +1100 | +2975 |
It’s been a rocky return to action for both FSV Mainz and TSG Hoffenheim, and these two teams will clash Saturday, both with plenty at stake.
For seventh-place Hoffenheim, a win might be able to help them keep pace with VFL Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga table and keep them in the running for UEFA Europa League qualification. For Mainz, a win could be huge in avoiding possible relegation.
Hoffenheim enters the match as a road favorite, with odds of +135 to win at BetAmerica. Home field hasn’t meant much to Mainz, even when fans were allowed to attend matches prior to the league suspending play due to COVID-19.
Mainz has won only four home matches this season. They have also conceded eight goals since the league returned, and that includes an ugly 5-0 home loss to RB Leipzig last Sunday.
Hoffenheim’s form has been just as inconsistent, with only one win in the last six matches dating back to March. Hoffenheim has also recorded a draw in each of their last three away matches.
It’s difficult to have confidence in either team to win this one. Mainz hasn’t earned many positive home results, and Hoffenheim has been on a streak of away draws. Hoffenheim might be favored, but betting on the draw doesn’t seem like a bad move given the price and recent form of both clubs.
Pick: Draw (+260)
Wolfsburg vs. Eintracht Frankfurt
Bayern Munich | Draw | Dusseldorf |
---|
-1275 | +1100 | +2975 |
VfL Wolfsburg is coming off a huge road win earlier this week against Leverkusen, a team with UEFA Champions League aspirations and sitting fifth in the Bundesliga table.
And while that should give you plenty of confidence in selecting Wolfsburg, the favorite, to win Saturday against Eintracht Frankfurt, Wolfsburg’s struggles at home might give you brief pause for thought.
Wolfsburg has only four wins in 14 home matches, which is very disappointing. Those struggles continued last Saturday in a loss to Dortmund. The good news is that Eintracht Frankfurt has been even worse on the road, with 10 losses in 13 away games.
Wolfsburg has put together two nice results on the road since the season resumed, and now it’s time for them to get back on the winning track at home. Have no fear. Feel confident in this game going Over 2.5 goals, too.
Would you believe it, Marin Pongračić bags another. Wolfsburg are smashing it!

Eintracht Frankfurt has been leaking goals against like crazy – even before the season was suspended. Since the season resumed, Eintracht Frankfurt has conceded 11 goals in three games.
Pick: Wolfsburg to Win & Over 2.5 Goals (+165)
