Bundesliga picks: Expect another clean sheet for Bayern Munich
The Bundesliga returned last weekend following a two-month suspension of play due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and while things were certainly different, it was still a welcomed sight to have a major sports league back in action.
Fans were not permitted to attend any of the matches, and players and coaches likely had to think twice and hold off on what would’ve been their normal reactions or celebrations to maintain physical distancing measures.
This weekend marks Matchday 27 in the Bundesliga schedule, and we fancy a trio of picks for matches available to wager on at BetAmerica.
Borussia Monchengladbach vs. Bayer Leverkusen
This match is setting up to be a high scoring affair. Borussia Monchengladbach has scored 52 goals for, the fourth highest total in the Bundesliga. Bayer Leverkusen isn’t far behind with 49 goals.
Both teams returned to form last weekend, scoring big wins.
Hammering the Over 2.5 total goals doesn’t seem like quite enough value for this match, with odds of -200 at BetAmerica. So why not tack on something else to that? Monchengladbach is coming off a 3-1 win in its return, and it has already scored an away victory against Bayer Leverkusen earlier in the season.
Monchengladbach will need a victory Saturday to keep its faint hopes of winning the Bundesliga title alive. Expect goals. The Over 2.5 total goals has hit in each of the last four matches for Monchengladbach, and three of the last four matches for Leverkusen. Expect a hotly contested match, too.

There’s risk in tacking on a winner to go with the Over 2.5 goals, but Monchengladbach cannot afford a loss or draw.
PICK: Monchengladbach to win and Over 2.5 goals (+225)
Wolfsburg vs. Dortmund
Dortmund marked its return to game action with a decisive 4-0 win over Schalke last week, showing absolutely no rust whatsoever on the attack despite key players out of the lineup or starting on the bench.
When the Bundesliga suspended play in March, Dortmund was one of the highest scoring clubs, and they’re currently three goals off the league lead held by Bayern Munich.
This week’s matchup should present more of a challenge. Dortmund will play Wolfsburg, which currently sits sixth in the Bundesliga table and has only given up 31 goals against in 26 matches. They’ve been unfazed by high-scoring opposition before, keeping RB Leipzig off the score sheet in March prior to the suspension.
Dortmund, favored to win this match with odds of -120 at BetAmerica, has had Wolfsburg’s number, winning the last four matches in Wolfsburg and now Dortmund could be getting its leading scorer, Jadon Sancho, back in the starting lineup after he came in off the bench last weekend.
Despite Dortmund’s potent attack, it may take a while for them to break this game open. Dortmund has scored the first goal in eight of their last 10 games and I believe that will continue Saturday on the road. Erling Haaland, who has 10 goals in nine Bundesliga games since joining Dortmund, including the opener last weekend.

If Sancho gets the start, he could certainly factor into the first-goal scorer market, but Haaland is worth a play to score the first goal with odds of +220 at BetAmerica.
PICK: Erling Haaland first goal scorer (+220)
Bayern Munich vs. Eintracht Frankfurt
Sitting atop the Bundesliga table, Bayern Munich returned to action with a 2-0 win over Union Berlin last weekend.
Make that four straight matches across all competitions that Bayern Munich has recorded the clean sheet. You’d have to go back to Feb. 21 when they last conceded a goal. Bayern Munich now plays Eintracht Frankfurt, which sits 13th in the Bundesliga table.
Bayern Munich is, as expected, a massive favorite to win Saturday with odds of -630 at BetAmerica.
Some might look back to what happened at the beginning of November, when Frankfurt demolished – yes, demolished – Bayern Munich by a score of 5-1 and raise an eyebrow at this matchup on Saturday. What happened between these teams months ago was a total anomaly. As they look to clinch yet another league title, there is no way Bayern Munich will take its foot off the gas pedal here.
The shutout streak will eventually end for Bayern Munich, but feel confident that it will last for at least one more match.
PICK: Bayern Munich to win to nil (+110)
