BetAmerica enters sports betting market in Michigan
Sports fans in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula can now bet on their favorite teams following today’s grand opening of the BetAmerica Sportsbook at the Island Resort & Casino in Harris, Michigan.
BetAmerica, a Churchill Downs-owned sports wagering and iGaming company, has partnered with the Hannahville Indian Community to launch the retail sportsbook. The partnership also includes plans to launch a BetAmerica online sportsbook and iGaming platform throughout the state of Michigan, subject to gaming license and regulatory approvals.
The Island Resort & Casino BetAmerica Sportsbook, located an hour’s drive south of Marquette and two hour’s drive north of Green Bay, features 14 self-service betting terminals and two betting windows offering wagering opportunities on sports including NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, and golf. The retail sportsbook operates 24/7 and includes more than 30 large-screen televisions, and features the Upper Peninsula’s largest high definition video wall.
"We are excited to offer guests of the Island Resort & Casino and visitors to the Upper Peninsula a state-of-the-art sports wagering experience," said Ian Williams, President of BetAmerica. "Sports fans will be able to access BetAmerica’s large selection of markets and unique products, including live in-play betting."
