Director Sam Mendes’ story of World War I heroism, 1917, is the popular pick with bettors to win Best Picture at Sunday night’s Academy Awards.
1917 is an odds-on favorite at BetAmerica, topping the betting at -250 in front of Parasite (+300) and Once Upon A Time In Hollywood (+700).

"We’ve taken more bets for 1917 to win Best Picture than we have for the rest of the nominees combined, so there’s a clear expectation from our players that it will get the gong on Sunday," said BetAmerica’s Andrew Brown.
According to the odds, the Best Actor and Best Actress awards also looked sewn up, with Joaquin Phoenix and Renee Zellweger both commanding odds-on favorites in their respective categories.
