The 2019-20 NHL season resumed on Aug. 1 with a unique, 24-team playoff hosted exclusively in Canada.
On Tuesday night, the New York Rangers became the first team eliminated from the postseason, when they fell to the Carolina Hurricanes in a three-game sweep in the best-of-five qualifying series. On Thursday, the Calgary Flames sent Winnipeg packing in a 4-0 loss in Game 4.
