The ultimate hockey movie quiz
Directors have been turning to sports for inspiration since the dawn of cinema, but it wasn’t until 1977 that hockey finally got the close-up it deserved when George Roy Hill and Paul Newman teamed up on Slap Shot. Slap Shot became a cult classic and paved the way for a deluge of new hockey films. Some of them, like Goon and Les Boys, were just as raunchy as their predecessor, while others, like The Mighty Ducks and Miracle, featured feel-good storylines suitable for the whole family.
