Stanley Cup Playoffs: Wednesday NHL Preview
Game 3 of the Islanders-Hurricanes series and Game 4 of the Blues-Stars series take place Wednesday night. Both Carolina and St. Louis will look to take commanding leads.
New York Islanders (+115) at Carolina Hurricanes (-135), 7 p.m. ET, NBCSN
Game 3 is a must win for the Islanders. Down 2-0 in the series, New York outshot Carolina 27-18 in Game 2, but couldn't get the puck past Carolina goaltender Petr Mrazek more than once in a 2-1 loss Sunday.Carolina has extended its win streak in the playoffs to four. The Hurricanes have gone 6-1 in their last seven and are 21-5 in their last 26 games as a favorite. The Islanders are 5-0 in their last five road games, though. They're worth backing here.
NHL Free Pick: Islanders +115
St. Louis Blues (+105) at Dallas Stars (-125), 9:30 p.m. ET, NBCSN
St. Louis took a 2-1 series lead with a 4-3 victory in Game 3, but look for Dallas goaltender Ben Bishop to bounce back. He allows 1.98 goals per game on average. His save percentage is 93.4%. He'll look to play more toward his averages Wednesday night. But strong trends favor St. Louis. The Blues are 6-0 in their last six games as an underdog and 5-0 in their last five games as a road underdog.
NHL Free Pick: Blues +105
