Stanley Cup Playoffs: Monday Night NHL Preview
With their series even at 1-1, the St. Louis Blues head to American Airlines Center in Dallas on Monday for Game 3 against the Stars.
St. Louis Blues (+100) at Dallas Stars (-115), 8 p.m. ET, NBCSN
Dallas came out swinging in Game 2 and scored three goals in the first 15 minutes of play. St. Louis outscored the Stars the rest of the way, but couldn't recover from the early barrage.Dallas went 26-15-2-1 at home during the regular season, then went 2-1 in three home games against the Nashville Predators in the first round.
The Stars' fortunes may rest with goaltender Ben Bishop, whose play improved from Game 1 to Game 2. In Game 1 Bishop saved 17 of the 20 shots he faced, then he kept out Bishop 32 of 34 shots in Game 2. Bishop also did his best work at home in the Nashville series.
More trends point to a St. Louis win, but the two most important trends are that the Blues are 1-4 in their last five trips to Dallas and they're 2-7 in the last nine meetings overall.
St. Louis might be in some trouble on the road in this series if Bishop's stellar play at home continues.
NHL Free Pick: Stars -120
