Analysis
Following the non-call hand pass in Game 3 that led to a 5-4 San Jose win in OT, the Sharks look to go up 3 games to 1 against the St. Louis Blues on Friday. Although the hand pass most definitely led to the winning goal, San Jose played well throughout the game.Down 4-3 in the third, the Sharks scored at the 18:59 mark. That sent the game into overtime. San Jose came out on top, even though both teams took the same amount of shots (32 each).
Things won’t get easier for San Jose on Friday night. St. Louis won Game 2 on the road. They felt they had Game 3 won before the tying goal in the third period. They also feel if not for the hand pass, they could have won the game in overtime.
The trends don’t give an edge to either team. St. Louis, though, is at home. These two are so evenly matched that we’re almost required to go with the Blues. St. Louis should bounce back and win Game 4.
