The Philadelphia Flyers and Washington Capitals will collide in a critical Metropolitan Division showdown on Wednesday night, and fans and bettors will be able to watch on national TV. Also on the NHL docket is an intriguing late-night matchup between the Arizona Coyotes and Vancouver Canucks.

The Flyers will seek their seventh straight victory in Capital One Arena, but their 15-18 record on the road this year gives cause for pause. Washington is a quality team but has struggled lately. They're 7-9 since the All-Star break. Bettors are best served heading to the totals market for a play.
Philadelphia has averaged 4.5 goals per game during their six-game win streak, and center Travis Konecny has been a key contributor, with 12 points in that span. He and his Flyers teammates have had Washington goalie Braden Holtby’s number this season. The 10-year vet owns a 3.85 goals-against average and .867 save percentage in three appearances against Philadelphia. The Over is 9-1-1 in Philly’s last 11 games and 21-8 in its last 29 on the road.
The Capitals offense, and Alex Ovechkin in particular, seem to be breaking out of their post All-Star break slump. Washington has scored four or more goals in three of its last four contests, and Ovechkin has five goals and an assist over his last six efforts.

The Over is 8-1-1 in Washington’s last 10 games against conference opponents and is 22-7 in the Caps’ last 29 against teams with winning records.

The Canucks, who went 1-3 on a recent road trip, should be able to right the ship with the mediocre Coyotes in town.
Vancouver is 12-3 in its last 15 home games and has rewarded its backers in seven of its last nine divisional tilts. The Canucks power play, which has lit the lamp in nine of its last 24 chances (37.5%), should be able to pierce an Arizona defense that is 15th in penalty-kill percentage on the road this season.
It’s difficult to find positive trends ahead of this matchup for the Coyotes. They’re 7-15 in their last 22 games, 1-6 in their last seven following a win, and 1-10 in their last 11 on the road.
