Check out how to make the most of your mid-week plays on the ice!
Flyers (-130) vs Senators (+105) – O/U: 6.5
The Flyers lost van Riemsdyk for 5-6 weeks due to injury, and quite honestly they played last night like they were mourning the man’s death. San Jose came into Philly and blasted Gritty and the Flyers 8-2 with the Sharks’ starting goalie on rest. Philadelphia has dropped two in a row after a good outing against Las Vegas where Simmonds picked up a pair of goals. They now play their first back-to-back and do so on the road against the Senators who have not had a game finish with under seven goals. Ottawa has had a tough schedule to kick off their season and finally get to come back home for a five game stretch. There will be some value in Ottawa to win in regulation. The Senators will get their starting goalie back to defend home turf. Give me the Senators.
Suggested play: Senators ML (+105)
Knights (+115) vs Capitals (-140) – O/U: 6
This is my game of the night, not just because it’s a rematch of the Stanley Cup Finals but because Vegas looks like they’re in full hangover mode with a chance to break free and score some goals. Vegas is 0/8 on Power Plays this season and a rematch like this against a team like Washington should add a few more chances to their Power Play total. The Capitals come off a high-scoring OT loss in Pittsburgh and nearly a week of rest. Vegas has been on the road since Saturday from Minnesota to Buffalo to Washington, and the road trip doesn’t end until this upcoming Saturday. Fatigue is going to catch up to Vegas eventually, but too much emotion and that “bounce-back” factor will get the Knights up for tonight’s primetime game. We should see a lot of hits and a lot of goals. Fleury gave up an average of four goals per game during the Stanley Cup Finals against the Capitals and there’s nothing to indicate that stops tonight.
Suggested play: PARLAY Capitals ML (-140) & Game Total OVER 6 Goals
Coyotes (+140) vs Ducks (-165) – O/U: 5.5
We’re far too early in the season to write off any team from getting a solid win and that means match-ups like these are wide open. Arizona hasn’t played since Saturday and come off their break to face the Ducks for the second time in a row after losing 1-0 in the first round. Arizona’s issue so far has been a total absence of offense to counter their goalie, Raanta, who has only given up four goals across their first two games. The Coyotes should play stout defense again tonight, but it’s a total toss up as to whether or not their offense has made any changes at all during the break. Anaheim should get a win, but there’s little to no value there especially against a team on a long rest.
Suggested play: Game Total UNDER 5.5 Goals
