Flyers vs. Bruins: The best player prop bets for Jan. 13
The Boston Bruins (20-11-2) will host the Philadelphia Flyers (13-15-7) Thursday night at the TD Garden in the NHL’s marquee Thursday matchup. New for this season, the game will air on ESPN, and is one of the few select NHL games this year that gets that honor.
The Bruins will be looking to build on recent momentum as they’ve won three in a row and are 7-3-0 in their last 10 games. They welcome back an old friend tonight in goaltender Tuukka Rask, who hasn’t played a game since June 9, 2021 after semi-retiring and completing a hip surgery this past summer.
The Flyers will want to test Rask early and often as they hope to end a five-game skid that has been compounded by multiple players landing on the COVID-19 inactive list, which hasn’t allowed them to play a game since last Saturday’s 3-2 overtime loss to San Jose.
Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET, and we have the three best player prop bets below.
BRAD MARCHAND TO SCORE ANYTIME
Boston’s top point scorer, Brad Marchand is coming off a hat-trick last night against Montreal and now has eight goals in his last four games. The pesky forward has been extremely reliable for the B’s this season, accumulating 39 points (19G, 20A) in 28 games played.

Carrying a career best 20.9 shooting percentage so far this season and averaging just under five shots on net in his last five contests, Marchand is on-pace to score a goal once every five shots. Add that to the fact the Flyers are the worst team in the league for shots allowed per game at 35 and there’s plenty of reason to believe Marshy will continue to add to his torrid goal scoring pace tonight.
PICK: BRAD MARCHAND ANYTIME GOAL (+104)
CLAUDE GIROUX OVER/UNDER 2.5 SHOTS ON GOAL
One of the players affected by the Flyers' recent COVID-19 issues was center Claude Giroux, who hasn’t played since New Year’s day. However, the six-time All-Star still leads the team in points with 29 (11G, 18A), and is averaging a healthy 2.63 shots on goal this season.
Just before his recent rest, the Flyers’ captain was trending in the right direction, accumulating at least three shots on net in three of his last five games. While he hasn’t played lately, Giroux should be excited to be back in the lineup and eager to help Philly get back in the win column.
PICK: OVER 2.5 SHOTS (-118)
CAM ATKINSON TO SCORE AT LEAST 1 POINT
In Giroux’s absence, the Flyers have turned to Cam Atkinson to be a catalyst on offense. The right-winger fired an incredible eight shots on net in his last game and picked up an assist, thereby extending his point streak to four games (2G, 4A).

While these two teams have split their two meetings this season, Atkinson has been rather effective, posting two goals and an assist against the Bruins. With 24 shots on net total in his last five games, Atkinson has been feeling the need to take matters into his own hands and should continue to generate goal scoring chances for the Flyers around the net on Thursday.
PICK: YES (-122)
