Bruins vs. Oilers: The best player prop bets for Dec. 9
Losers of three straight, the Edmonton Oilers will try to get back in the win column Thursday night when they host the Boston Bruins, who are also winless in their last two games.
Led by Connor McDavid (16G, 27A) and Leon Draisaitl (21G, 22A), who share the league lead in scoring at 43 points each, Edmonton’s high-powered offense needs to rediscover its mojo as the Oilers have averaged less than two goals in their last three games.
The Bruins will look to continue to silence the Oilers with the league’s sixth best goals allowed rate (2.59). Boston should also generate plenty of chances with the league’s second best shots on goal per game average (36.7).
Puck drop is set for 9:00 p.m. ET, and we have the three best player prop bets below.
LEON DRAISAITL: TO SCORE AT LEAST 2 POINTS
After winning the scoring title in the 2019-20 season with 110 points at a rate of 1.55 points per game, Leon Draisaitl is off to an even better pace of 1.79 points per game this season. Collecting 13 multi-point games so far in 24 games played, including one against Boston back in November, Draisaitl is a bona fide superstar that teams can only hope to limit, not shut down.
Leon Draisaitl (@EdmontonOilers), Jack Campbell (@MapleLeafs) and Nazem Kadri (@Avalanche) have been named the NHL’s “Three Stars” for the month of November.#NHLStats: https://t.co/rtCjgzDbPj pic.twitter.com/nsCtfZwH7g

After being shut out with no points in his last two games, the crafty Art Ross winner will be ready to get back on the score sheet tonight.
PICK: YES (+100)
GOAL SCORER: CONNOR MCDAVID
Hockey fans have been lucky this season as they’ve already been treated to two "Goal of the Year" candidates from Connor McDavid.
Gotta go with Connor McDavid (@cmcdavid97) on this one... 😂 pic.twitter.com/BchsGXsQV5

The three-time Art Ross winner has four goals in his last six games, bringing his total to 16 this season. The Oilers also top the league with a 32% conversion rate on the power play, which McDavid has contributed to with five goals.
There’s not much else to be said, as we could make a case for McDavid to score a goal any night he plays.
PICK: MCDAVID ANYTIME GOAL (+108)
BRAD MARCHAND: OVER/UNDER 2.5 SHOTS ON GOAL
Leading the way for the Bruins is the 13-year veteran Brad Marchand, who’s tallied 24 points (9G, 15A) in 19 games played.
After Marchand, Boston's next best scorers have 20, 19, and 14 points. While the team does have the second best shots on goal rate per game, the Bruins have really had to rely on their top point scorers to convert.
Generating four shots on goal in his last game and averaging 3.8 in his last five, Marchand will have to get heavily involved again tonight to give the Bruins a chance.
PICK: OVER 2.5 (-125)
