Avalanche vs. Kings: The best player prop picks for March 15
The current class of the NHL – the Colorado Avalanche – will look for yet another victory on Tuesday night when they take on the Los Angeles Kings at Crypto.com Arena.
The Avs are still negotiating the injury to team captain Gabriel Landeskog, but the Kings are in a far worse state injury-wise with team captain Dustin Brown and stalwart defenseman Drew Doughty recently joining Viktor Arvidsson and Andreas Athanasiou on injured reserve.
Colorado is unsurprisingly a heavy road favorite, so let’s look at our top three player prop wagers for this tilt.
Colorado Avalanche (42-13-5) at Los Angeles Kings (33-20-8), 10:30 p.m. ET
Nathan MacKinnon goal scorer
Nathan MacKinnon is fresh off a two-goal night in a key matchup with the Calgary Flames on Sunday, which included a first period power play snipe that ultimately proved to be the game-winning goal. He’s a threat to find the back of the net once more in this spot.

MacKinnon has scored at least one goal in nine of his last 11 contests, helping carry the freight for the Avs without leading goal scorer Landeskog. Don’t be surprised if he notches another one on the man advantage, as the Kings are sixth-worst in the NHL at killing off penalties (75%).
Prop bettors should also take a look at the Over 4.5 (-112) on MacKinnon shots, especially if Doughty remains out of the lineup for Los Angeles.
NHL pick: MacKinnon anytime goal (+135)
Nazem Kadri Over/Under 2.5 shots
Nazem Kadri is a fairly consistent generator of pucks on net, and looks poised to beat this line on Tuesday night.
Kadri is averaging 3.35 shots per game this year, and his 191 total shots on goal through 57 games played rank third on his team. He has registered at least three shots in five of his last seven tilts.
Kadri’s production stands to improve with Landeskog and Doughty both potentially unavailable for this one.
NHL pick: Over (-155)
Phillip Danault to score at least one point
Kings forwards are dropping like flies, and Anze Kopitar and Adrian Kempe are currently mired in slumps. Props bettors are getting generous odds on Phillip Danault – third on his team in ice time since the All-Star break – to pick up the slack in this spot.

Danault has tallied a point in 10 of his last 15 games, and has already set a season-high for goals with 17. He is on pace for his best season points-wise since 2018-19.
NHL pick: Yes (+100)
