Boost the Bankroll: NFL Five-Team Teaser Play for Week 6 of 2024
Week 6 features an exciting slate of 14 games, with the Chiefs, Dolphins, Rams, and Vikings on bye, and YouBet has identified a five-team, six-point teaser (+400 odds) to play. Lines below include the six-point teaser and courtesy of BetMGM, with all times listed as Eastern.
Colorado
Browns at Eagles (1 p.m.): Cleveland Browns
Cleveland enters with a three-game losing streak, but the Browns made personnel moves early in week to clear a spot for Nick Chubb, who was subsequently ruled out for Sunday. His return would have certainly provided a boost to the lowest-rated offense in total yards (239.4 yards per game), and Cleveland’s talented defense (sixth-ranked overall, according to PFF) will be in rebound mode after surrendering 34 points in a blowout loss to Washington.
We’re against the dysfunctional Eagles, who have been terrible at covering big spreads (1-8 ATS last nine games when favored by 8+ points) and averaged only 17.3 points per game over the last three contests. Philadelphia comes off a bye week, but Jalen Hurts and Nick Sirianni are not on the same page and the defense didn’t tackle effectively in its last outing.
Colts at Titans (1 p.m.): Under
The Colts are banged up, with Jonathan Taylor missing his second straight game with injury and Anthony Richardson trying to work his way back after being sidelined in Week 4, but we’re not keen on the Titans, who must avoid a letdown after convincingly earning their first win at Miami. The quarterback situation isn’t favorable, with Mason Rudolph replacing an injured Will Levis last week, and last week’s 31-point output looks like an anomaly for an offense that couldn’t score more than 17 points in any of the first three weeks.
After a poor defensive effort at Jacksonville, the Colts will things around versus a limited offense. And the Titans defense will make points hard to come by for the road team. We like the under.
Chargers at Denver (4:05 p.m.): Los Angeles Chargers
The Chargers will benefit from bye week, and we will play against Denver following three straight wins and covers. The Broncos benefited from adverse weather conditions in Week 4, winning 10-9 at the Jets despite recording only 186 total yards (60 passing), and they were outgained 330-289 in Week 5 by the turnover-prone Raiders, who essentially gave the game away.
The well-coached Chargers won’t be so sloppy, tied for third in the league with a +5 turnover differential, and their outstanding defense (allowing a league-low 12.5 points per game) will pose problems for rookie quarterback Bo Nix. Los Angeles hasn’t surrendered more than 20 points to any opponent, and Justin Herbert will get the Chargers offense going after being slowed by an ankle injury in the last two setbacks.
Lions at Cowboys (4:25 p.m.): Lions
Kudos to a banged-up Cowboys defense for an inspired performance at Pittsburgh, providing the offense with the opportunity to come back by holding the Steelers to 92 rushing and 134 passing yards, but Dallas remains one-dimensional due to the lack of a viable ground game (31st-ranked, averaging only 82 rushing yards per game). Dak Prescott must carry the offense, but his three turnovers kept Pittsburgh in the game last week and the Cowboys appear ripe for a letdown versus well-rounded Detroit.
The Lions didn’t play their best football during the first three weeks, but they exit a 42-point explosion where Jared Goff completed 18 of 18 passes. And with a bye week to prepare, there's no reason to expect a decline from the surging Lions in Week 6.
Falcons at Panthers (4:25 p.m.): Under
Andy Dalton provided an offensive boost when replacing Bryce Young in Week 3, leading Carolina to 60 combined points in a pair of games, but the Panthers reverted to form when scoring 10 points against Chicago last week. They lack skill players at receiver, but Chuba Hubbard has really come on the last three weeks, averaging more than six yards per carry while rushing for 315 yards.
The Panthers can’t score many points, but they will eat up clock behind Hubbard. And after struggling to run effectively in recent weeks, the Falcons will look to get Bijan Robinson back on track. With a lot of running plays expected, this one has all the earmarks to go under.
