Washington Football Team vs. Broncos: NFL Week 8 betting odds, preview, and pick
The Washington Football Team is quickly seeing its season slip away, while the Denver Broncos are on a four-game losing streak and doing the same. In the late afternoon Sunday window these two struggling teams will face off, and one of them will earn a much-needed win to keep their postseason hopes alive.
Washington is 2-5 straight-up on the season and a league-worst 1-6 against the spread. Its only cover of the year came in a road victory over the Atlanta Falcons in a game that easily could have gone the other way.
Denver started the year 3-0 straight-up and 3-0 against the spread, but has lost four straight in both regards and is now last in the AFC West.
Let’s take a closer look at this matchup, beginning with the latest betting odds.
Broncos Offense Is Getting Healthier
Injuries have been a big part of the Broncos’ current four-game losing streak, especially on offense.
Quarterback Teddy Bridgewater has gotten banged around, but he made it through Denver's Thursday Night Football game against the Browns in Week 7. His foot and leg injuries have clearly left him less mobile, but his arm and head are fine, and the few extra days’ rest should serve him well.

Along the offensive line, Dalton Risner and Graham Glasgow are both off the injury report and closer to 100% than they were a month ago. At the skill positions, the wide receiver unit is clearly missing their young talents Jerry Jeudy and K.J. Hamler, but Courtland Sutton is off the injury list, as is Melvin Gordon.
The Broncos’ total offensive EPA for the season is a bit inflated due to the overall weakness of their first three opponents, but the dip we saw over the first few games of this losing streak was as much derived from a banged-up roster facing above-average Ravens and Steelers’ defenses as it was a major problem in the offense at large. As the Broncos get healthier, so too should their offensive efficiency.

Washington vs. Denver Betting Trends
- Washington is 1-6 ATS this season
- Washington is 0-4 ATS in its last four games as an underdog
- The Broncos are 10-4 ATS in their last 14 games against a team with a losing record
- The Broncos are 6-0 ATS in their last six games after accumulating less than 250 yards in their previous game

Desperate Denver will pull out the win
The Broncos' defense is very banged up, but the offense is healthier than in recent weeks. Playing at home and in desperate need of a win to stay competitive in a seemingly wide-open AFC West, the Broncos will do enough offensively to continue Washington’s horrible record against the spread.
