It's very easy to get sucked in to the historical trends. Underdogs are 10-4-1 ATS in the last 15 years of NFL championship games, and the Patriots themselves have gone just 2-5 ATS in their last seven Super Bowl appearances. But Shapiro and Scully make one very good point that should help inform your own Super Bowl betting strategies. The 2018-19 New England Patriots are a different team than the 2017-18 New England Patriots. Same goes for the Los Angeles Rams, who have matured so much this past calendar year after being laid to waste by the Atlanta Falcons with relative ease in the playoffs last season.
The 2019 Super Bowl is set for February 3rd and will be hosted in Atlanta, GA out of the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The Patriots are currently a -2.5 point favorite after the Rams opened as early, one-point preferences on the opening line. Throughout the lead-up to Super Bowl Sunday, the BetAmerica team will bring you deep dives on the markets, lines, trends and stories that will help serve as the foundation of Super Bowl betting strategies across the country.
