Troubled Offenses Spotlight Week 9 MNF Betting

How To Bet The 40.5 Total
The Cowboys and Titans enter off a bye, and both teams are 3-4 looking to get back into the playoff picture in the second half of the season. Both teams' offenses need to pick up the pace and production. This Week 9 MNF betting matchup looks like a defensive duel (and a bit of a snoozer) with two struggling offenses and solid defenses. The total has been dropping, and I would take it no lower than 40.0, which is where it currently sits.
The advance look-ahead line on this game was Dallas -4.0, and the Cowboys were up to -6 but the line is settling at less than a touchdown.
NFL WEEK 9 MNF BETTING Tennessee Titans at Dallas Cowboys Monday, November 5thh – AT&T Stadium – 8:15pm ET Odds: Cowboys -5.0 (40.0)
These run-first offenses are on full display under the lights with the Titans running the ball 30 times per game, but yielding an unproductive 3.9 yards per rush. The Cowboys also run it above league average at 27 times per game but at a solid clip of 4.9 yards per rush. Both run defenses are top-10 in yards per rush against, and Dallas (9th) has played some of their season without LB Sean Lee, who will go Monday Night and is a key cog and leader of the Dallas defense. But with unproductive quarterback play on both sides, it looks like the offenses will struggle and both teams are currently among the very worst in finding the end zone averaging less than 2 touchdowns per game. Marcus Mariota has been especially unimpressive with just 3 TD passes against 5 INTs so far.Tennessee has actually scored just 3 touchdowns in its last 45 drives, and will try to find holes in a Dallas defense that is top-3 overall in yards against (313) and yards per play (5.1). The extra week of prep could help, but Dallas is 3-0 at home and playing their best while at AT&T. Dallas does add a much-needed wide receiver with the trade and addition of Amari Cooper, but pro bowl guard Zach Martin may miss this contest (MCL), which will make it tough against a Titans defense that surrenders just 18.1 points per game, and has given up season highs of 27 (vs. Miami Week 1) and 21 (vs. Baltimore Week 6).
I won’t lay the points with Dallas despite the fact that they play their best at Cowboys Stadium while going undefeated in three home stands this season. The Titans have some risk with its offense and matches up well, but would be preferred side if I was forced in to it. The best play is UNDER the total in this Monday night match-up.
