Titans vs. Rams: The best player prop bets for SNF
Since a shock overtime loss to the New York Jets in Week 4, the Titans have been on a serious roll, winning four on the spin and beating the Bills, Chiefs, and Colts in the last three weeks. But now Tennessee heads to SoFi Stadium to face the Los Angeles Rams without the most dominant running back in the NFL.
Derrick Henry (foot) is out for up to 10 weeks, giving the Titans an identity crisis as they arrive at the Rams.
The Rams themselves are on a tear, having lost just once all season while on a run of four straight wins. They’ve racked up more than 400 yards of offense in four of their last six games, and just put up 38 points on the Texans without really breaking a sweat.
They’re favorites by a touchdown, and the Over/Under is the highest of any game this weekend.
Matthew Stafford: Over/Under 301.5 Passing Yards
Matthew Stafford has a new lease on life now that he’s teamed up with Sean McVay, and he’s in his best form ever. His 68.9% completion rate this season is the highest of his career, and his 9.1 yards per attempt is not only the highest of his career, but also the second-highest in the league behind just Russell Wilson.

Stafford is averaging 309.6 passing yards per game – third highest in the NFL behind only Tom Brady and Derek Carr – and he’s thrown for more than 300 yards in three of his last four games. Even if all these stats aren’t your thing, you simply need to watch him, and his awesome connection with wide-out Cooper Kupp, and bask in how awesome he’s been.
Now Stafford gets to take on the Titans' pass stoppers, who are ranked 25th in the NFL and have given up 283.5 passing yards per game. Tennessee’s secondary is having some serious problems, especially against elite quarterbacks this season.
Quarterbacks with average passer rating of 99+ this season vs. Titans
Quarterback | Average Passer Rating in 2021 | Passing Yards vs. Titans |
---|
Russell Wilson | 125.3 | 343 |
Matthew Stafford | 118 | ??? |
Kyler Murray | 110.4 | 289 |
Josh Allen | 103.1 | 353 |
Stafford is having an elite season, and in a game where the Over/Under is so high, expect him to light up primetime with a huge box score performance.
Pick: Over 301.5 Passing Yards (-114)
AJ Brown: Over/Under 75.5 Receiving Yards
How do you solve a problem like Henry’s injury? It’s a near impossible job replacing him, so all eyes will be on quarterback Ryan Tannehill to start moving the chains as the Titans could potentially go pass-first with this offense.
That would be quite the shift in strategy, but it could pay dividends for AJ Brown, who has hit a phenomenal bit of form in recent weeks.

His average yards per game this year is 72.7, and that’s from just 7.7 targets per game. The only player with more yards per game on fewer targets is Ja’Marr Chase, who has played out of this world for eight weeks.
And while Brown’s number is good overall, his uptick in performance over the last three weeks has been huge.
Quarterbacks with average passer rating of 99+ this season vs. Titans
Quarterback | Average Passer Rating in 2021 | Passing Yards vs. Titans |

Russell Wilson | 125.3 | 343 |
Matthew Stafford | 118 | ??? |
Kyler Murray | 110.4 | 289 |
Josh Allen | 103.1 | 353 |
In total, Brown has played 15 games in his NFL career in which he has had eight targets or more. In those 15 games, he averages 96.9 yards per game. He’s in for a lot of volume here with Henry missing and the Titans needing to keep pace with the Rams, so take the Over.
Pick: Over 75.5 Receiving Yards (-114)
Tyler Higbee: Over/Under 36.5 Receiving Yards
Stafford might be in line for a huge game, but it doesn’t look set up to be particularly promising for tight end Tyler Higbee. The Titans allow the fewest yards per game to tight ends this season (27.5) and an average of just 3.5 receptions a game, so Higbee is in for a tough 60 minutes.
In Week 7, the Titans faced the league’s number one tight end in Travis Kelce, and although he caught seven passes (12 targets), he managed to rip off a total of just 65 yards. That was an average of 5.4 yards per target – down from Kelce’s season average of 7.9.

Higbee is good, but he is no Kelce, so this matchup looks tough from the get-go. Throw in the fact that Higbee simply isn’t getting many targets (an average of 4.5 a game), and I’m leaning towards the Under despite the fact he’s part of an awesome Rams offense.
He’s averaged just 34.1 yards per game this season and has only topped 36 yards once in his last five games. Higbee’s target share is just 13%, and even if Stafford throws the ball 35 times, I don’t fancy his chances.
Pick: Under 36.5 Receiving Yards (-115)
