The ultimate football movie quiz
Moviegoers have been streaming into cinemas to watch football films since Oct. 17, 1921, when Two Minutes to Go made its silver screen debut. The 60-minute silent film starred Charles Ray as a college football star forced to work as a milkman when his father’s business goes belly up.
Two Minutes to Go likely wouldn’t win any awards today, but it did inspire future generations of filmmakers to tell their own stories about America’s game. Some of them, like The Longest Yard, have left us rolling in the aisles, while others, like Rudy, have inspired us with their tales of persistence. And then there are flicks like Gus, which taught us all the value of having a field goal-kicking mule on your 55-man roster.
