The Jets brought in former Dolphins head coach Adam Gase to lead the way and signed free agent running back Le’Veon Bell in free agency. The Giants, meanwhile, added receiver Golden Tate and drafted Duke quarterback Daniel Jones with the sixth overall pick in April.
You won’t see Bell taking many carries in Week 1, though Gase hasn’t revealed whether the former Steeler is resigned to the sideline for all of Thursday night. Jones, on the other hand, will get his first chance to showcase his talent in front of a fan base that, for the most part, seemed less than thrilled to see him selected so high up the draft board in April.

New York Jets to win vs. New York Giants (was -135, now +135)
The Jets take on the Giants in the first unofficial in-city rivalry game of 2019. Neither team was good in 2018 and both made significant coaching or roster changes in an attempt to put together a better showing in the coming year. The Jets brought in former Dolphins head coach Adam Gase to lead the way and signed free agent running back Le’Veon Bell in free agency. Sam Darnold will sit for the most part Thursday, which leaves former Broncos starter Trevor Siemian to run the offense for much of the game. Given his experience, and the fact the Jets are looking to gel with a new coach, they should gain the edge over a team they’ve lost to in the preseason for the last four years.
In an effort to flip the script in 2019, the Raiders acquired Antonio Brown in a trade with the Steelers and signed receiver Tyrell Williams, offensive lineman Trent Brown, linebacker Vontaze Burfict and a handful of other offensive and defensive pieces. Oakland also brought in veteran Mike Glennon to backup quarterback Derek Carr.
Jared Goff will sit to give new backup Blake Bortles some experience in the Rams offense, while Brandon Allen may rotate in as well. The Rams don't have as much to figure out in the preseason and will play it safe by sitting injury-prone Todd Gurley. The Raiders will have plenty of talent to experiment with in Week 1 and the Oakland crowd on their side.
Oakland Raiders to win vs. Los Angeles Rams (was -180, now +180)
Sean McVay and the Rams dominated the league last season with an explosive offense that averaged just four fewer yards per game than the Kansas City Chiefs. The Raiders’ 2018 season was a far different story. At 4-12 for the year, Oakland put up one of the worst offensive and defensive performances in the NFL.In an effort to flip the script in 2019, the Raiders acquired Antonio Brown in a trade with the Steelers and signed receiver Tyrell Williams, offensive lineman Trent Brown, linebacker Vontaze Burfict and a handful of other offensive and defensive pieces.
