Saints' Super Bowl odds improve after crushing Colts on MNF
The New Orleans Saints are fresh off one of their most convincing victories of the season, as they crushed the Colts 34-7 on Monday Night Football. As a result their Super Bowl odds dropped from +600 to +500 overnight. They’re now 5-2 since quarterback Drew Brees rejoined the lineup off a hand injury, with a narrow home loss to the 49ers two weeks ago and a shocking Week 10 defeat to the Falcons—which was avenged on Thanksgiving—the only blips on the radar.

NOLA's offense has been firing on all cylinders
New Orleans boasts one of the most effective offenses in the NFL. The Saints ranking fifth in scoring (27 points per game) and sixth in yards per play (6.0). Wide receiver Michael Thomas, who leads the NFL in receiving yards this season (1,552), is Brees’ most reliable weapon. He had another fine performance against Indianapolis, and reeled in all 12 of his targets for 128 yards and a touchdown.Michael Thomas is good at football pic.twitter.com/YaQcFQa6Jk

Brees had a record-breaking night
Thomas helped Brees break more than one record Monday night. The future Hall of Fame quarterback now has the most touchdown passes in NFL history, as well as the record for highest completion percentage in a single game. Brees completed 29 of his 30 pass attempts (96.7%) and notched four touchdowns through the air. The 40-year-old has showed no signs of slowing down this season, with a 75.8% completion rate, an average of 7.9 yards per passing attempt and a 21-4 touchdown-interception ratio.Drew Brees sets all time touch down record, breaks Peyton Manning record.. pic.twitter.com/88AhMlJhuz

Not to be forgotten are Alvin Kamara and Latavius Murray, who have been a solid tailback tandem for Sean Payton’s offense. They've combined to average 111 yards per game over their last five contests. The Saints’ defense is also respectable. It ranks ninth in yards allowed per play (5.3) and fourth in sacks (44).
New Orleans presents plenty of value
When one compares New Orleans’ stats to those of the current Super Bowl favorite, the Baltimore Ravens, it’s easy to see there’s value in this slight underdog. The Saints’ offense is superior in scoring and yards per play (the Ravens are 13th and 25th, respectively), and their defense is slightly better in yards allowed per play (Baltimore is 14th) and vastly superior in sacks (18th).We're nearing the end of the NFL's regular season, but there are still attractive NFL futures options at BetAmerica!
