The Los Angeles Rams will try to keep their playoff hopes alive at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on Sunday night as they host a hot division rival in the Seattle Seahawks.

Rams' offense has stalled in 2019
The Rams’ offense was strong and steady throughout the 2018 campaign, but it has been plagued by inconsistency in 2019. L.A. was able to pile up 34 points against the Arizona Cardinals last week, but they have averaged fewer than 12 points over their last three games against the Baltimore Ravens, Chicago Bears and Pittsburgh Steelers. Jared Goff has been nowhere near the MVP-caliber level he played at last season as he’s produced an 84.4 passer rating this season, 25th among all qualified quarterbacks. He could struggle in this one, especially if running backs Todd Gurley and Malcolm Brown fail to produce on the ground against Seattle’s eighth-ranked run stoppers.David Blough has more touchdown passes in the month of Novemeber than Jared Goff pic.twitter.com/glq0s5m6W0

On the other side of the ball, strength meets strength as Russell Wilson leads the Seahawks’ sixth-rated offense by yards per play into battle against coordinator Wade Phillips’ fourth-ranked defense in the corresponding category. Lamar Jackson and the Ravens showed the league that the Rams can be run on when they compiled 285 rushing yards during Monday Night Football two weeks ago, so look for running back Chris Carson to have a prominent role in Seattle’s attack this Sunday night. He went for 118 yards on 27 carries when these teams met on October 3 and caught the game-winning touchdown pass.

Seahawks have been rewarding backers
The Seahawks are certainly the hotter of the two teams coming into this matchup, having won eight of their last nine games (6-3 against the spread), while the Rams have gone 4-5 in the same span (5-4 against the spread). Seattle has rewarded their backers on the road lately, covering in six of their last seven chances, and they’re 25-11-1 against the spread in their last 37 games played in December. L.A. is essentially an underdog heading into this one, and that’s not a role they’ve thrived in of late, as they’ve failed to cover in each of their last eight tilts as home underdogs.NFL free pick: Seattle moneyline
