Patrick Mahomes’ record against every NFL team
*This article has since been updated to reflect Mahomes' record against each NFL team as of Jan. 30, 2024.
In his seventh season in the league, Patrick Mahomes has firmly established himself as an elite NFL quarterback, and will one day go down as one of the greatest to play the game.
Among his many accolades, Mahomes is the first player to throw for over 3,000 yards in his first 10 games and is the fastest player to accumulate 25,000 career passing yards, which he accomplished in 83 games. He's also the record holder for total yards by a quarterback in a season, with 5,614 in 2022.
Following his first Super Bowl title and Super Bowl MVP award at the conclusion of the 2019 season, Mahomes made history at the bank as well when he signed a 10-year extension worth $477 million, with another $26 million in potential bonuses. The contract, as of now, is the second-largest in American professional sports behind MLB's Mike Trout, who signed a 12-year, $426.5 million contract with the Los Angeles Angels.
Since his mega-contract signing, Mahomes has led Kansas City to two more Super Bowl appearances, with one resulting in the franchise's third Super Bowl title. On Feb. 11, 2024, he will play in his fourth Super Bowl game in six seasons as a full-time starter.

Mahomes vs. the Baltimore Ravens
When they first joined the league, Lamar Jackson vs. Mahomes looked primed to become the next great quarterback rivalry, similar to Tom Brady vs. Peyton Manning. But the competition between the 2018 league MVP and Jackson, the 2020 unanimous MVP, was a bit underwhelming to start.

Mahomes won his first three games against Lamar and the Baltimore Ravens, with each meeting growing more lopsided in Kansas City's favor.
The first matchup brought about a thrilling overtime win for Kansas City. In 2019's rendition, the Chiefs handed Baltimore just one of the Ravens' two regular-season losses, and in 2020, KC embarrassed Baltimore on Monday Night Football.
In Week 2 of 2021, Mahomes endured his first loss to Baltimore, as the Ravens shocked Kansas City, 36-35, in M&T Bank Stadium.
Mahomes vs. the Denver Broncos
Mahomes got his first career start in Week 17 of 2017 against AFC West rival Denver. Since then, Mahomes has gone 12-1 against the Broncos. Across those 13 games, he has racked up 3,505 passing yards, 19 touchdown passes, and 11 interceptions.
Mahomes vs. the Houston Texans
Mahomes has achieved a 2-1 overall record against Houston. In 2019, Mahomes suffered a 31-24 home defeat against the Texans while he played on an injured ankle.
He met Houston again in the Divisional Round of the playoffs, in one of the most mind-blowing postseason collapses in history.

The Texans led 24-0 early in the second quarter, as Mahomes and his offense struggled to find a spark. Then, Houston botched an unnecessary fake-punt attempt and fumbled on a kickoff, and suddenly Kansas City trailed by just three.
The Chiefs ended up winning 51-31, as Mahomes became the first player in postseason history to tally at least 300 yards passing, five touchdowns, and at least 50 rushing yards.
Mahomes vs. the Las Vegas Raiders
Las Vegas is another AFC West rival that historically has not fared well against Mahomes.
The Raiders were 0-4 against Kansas City's QB up until 2020, when the Raiders upset the Chiefs at home, 40-32 in Week 5.
The Raiders nearly pulled off another win in Week 11, but Mahomes connected with Travis Kelce for a touchdown with 28 seconds left in regulation to seal a 35-31 win. That late drive marked the first time in Mahomes' career that he threw a go-ahead touchdown in the final two minutes of a game.
Through the 2023 season, Mahomes owns a 10-2 record versus the Raiders.
Mahomes vs. the Los Angeles Rams
An instant classic was born in Mahomes' first meeting with Los Angeles in 2018. Both the Chiefs and Rams represented a new brand of high-octane offense, and their prime-time matchup resulted in one of the most spectacular finishes in recent memory.
The Rams got the best of Mahomes in a 54-51 shootout, which saw 14 touchdowns, including three by defensive players, 1,001 combined yards of offense, 56 first downs, and 105 total points. It was the first time in NFL history that both teams scored at least 50 points.

Mahomes passed for a career-high 478 yards, six touchdowns (tied for his career high), and was picked off three times.
Mahomes vs. the New England Patriots
Mahomes met Tom Brady three times with the New England Patriots. In his second matchup, in January 2019, Mahomes experienced his only loss in the playoffs at the time, when New England outdueled Kansas City, 37-31, in overtime of the AFC Championship Game. The Patriots' win prevented a rematch of the Rams vs. Chiefs in Super Bowl LIII.
Since Brady's departure from New England, Mahomes is 2-0 against the Patriots.
When the Chiefs face vs the Patriots in Sunday's AFC Championship Game, it will have been 17,906 days since their last Super Bowl appearance (def. MIN in Super Bowl IV).

Mahomes vs. the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Mahomes met Brady again in Week 12 of the 2020 season, but this time, Brady was playing for the Buccaneers, a team Mahomes had yet to face in his career.
In the 27-24 Chiefs win, Mahomes threw for 462 yards and three scores, while Brady put up 345 passing yards, three touchdowns, and was picked off twice.
Mahomes and Brady clashed again in Super Bowl LV on Feb. 7, and this time around the G.O.A.T. had the last laugh. The 43-year-old signal caller went 21-for-29 for 201 yards and three touchdowns in a decisive 31-9 victory. A clearly hobbled Mahomes was held out of the end zone and threw two interceptions in the biggest loss of his career.
The following season, Kansas City avenged its Super Bowl loss with a 41-31 regular-season win over Brady in his final season in the league.
Mahomes vs. the New Orleans Saints
Mahomes faced the Saints for the first time in his career in Week 15 of the 2020 season and led the Chiefs to a 32-29 win over New Orleans on the road. It was his only chance to battle legendary quarterback Drew Brees, who retired at the end of the season.
Mahomes vs. the San Francisco 49ers
One of the most significant victories of Mahomes' career came in February 2020, when his Chiefs triumphed in Super Bowl LIV against San Francisco.
Mahomes went 26-of-42 for 286 passing yards, and recorded three total touchdowns, along with two interceptions.
His performance earned him Super Bowl MVP. At 24 years and 138 days old, Mahomes is the third-youngest recipient and youngest quarterback to win the award.
At the conclusion of the 2022 season, Mahomes won his second Super Bowl title when he defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 38-35 in Arizona.
