NFL Week 8 Picks - Can Rodgers Rally Against Rams?
Two games figure to attract the most attention on Sunday: Packers at Rams and Broncos at Chiefs. Kansas City had to fight to beat Denver on the moneyline in the first battle. Will the Broncos exact revenge, or will Chiefs prove they truly are the team to beat in the AFC? Meanwhile, the Rams got off their 3-game ATS slide in a 39-10 win over San Francisco. Before Rams’ bettors get too excited, read the two words used to end the previous sentence: San Francisco. Covering against the 49ers and C.J. Beathard’s much different than covering -9.5 against the Packers and Aaron Rodgers. Will the Rams cover? And what are the best NFL Week 8 picks to make to keep your momentum rolling? Keep reading to find out!

Washington Redskins PK at New York Giants The line’s dropped a full point from Washington +1 to a Pick. The Giants played well in Monday night’s 20-23 loss to Atlanta. Maybe, that’s why some NFL bettors back NYG. However, New York is 1-10 ATS in their last 11 after an against the spread win. I’m not going against that proven trend.
NFL Week 8 Picks: Redskins PK
Seattle Seahawks at Detroit Lions -3 Nearly two-thirds of backs (so far) believe that the Lions cover the -3 even though Seattle is 5-1 ATS in their last 6 in October. The Seahawks also head to Detroit off a bye. Before the bye, Seattle finally got its rushing attack on track. Because the Lions allow over 130 yards on the ground, I’ll take the points. The arrival of Snacks Harrison is a slight concern, but Seattle is also one of those teams that seems to punch above its weight class.
NFL Week 8 Picks: Seahawks +3
Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Cincinnati Bengals -4.5 It feels like bettors are overvaluing the Bengals in this. Cincinnati doesn’t rank any better than 26th in a single defensive category, this includes allowing opponents to average a total yardage close to 430 yards. The Bengals do bounce back after tough losses, but they have also gone 7-1 ATS in their last 8 after allowing 30 points in their previous game. Laying the points makes sense.
NFL Week 8 Picks: Bengals -4.5
New York Jets at Chicago Bears -7.5 The Bears host the Jets with most feeling Chicago easily covers the spread. Although 7.5 is a lot of points, it’s hard to go against the sentiment that the spread is what it is for a reason. Chicago’s 4-1 ATS in their last 5 following an ATS loss and 11-4-1 ATS in their last 16 home games, while NYJ is 3-8-1 ATS in their last 12 on the road.
NFL Week 8 Picks: Bears -7.5
Denver Broncos at Kansas City Chiefs -9.5 Most signs point to Kansas City blowing out the Broncos. Although the spread has gone from -8.5 to -9.5, it might not be high enough. KC is 6-0 ATS in their last 6 versus the Broncos, but what’s really incredible is how Kansas City’s an amazing 11-1 ATS in their last 12. There will come a time where the spread busting ways of the Chiefs comes to an end, but Week 8 is not that time.
NFL Week 8 Picks: Chiefs -9.5
Baltimore Ravens -2 at Carolina Panthers This might be the most difficult game to handicap in Week 8. Many feel the Panthers are undervalued getting 2 points at home, but trends point to Baltimore bouncing back after their 1-point, Week 7 loss against the Saints. The Ravens are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 after a SU loss. Carolina is 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games after an ATS loss. I’m backing Baltimore.
NFL Week 8 Picks: Ravens -2
Cleveland Browns at Pittsburgh Steelers -8 The Steelers have put together two solid efforts, covering at home against Atlanta and beating Cincinnati on the road. However, they are 1-8 ATS in their last 9 after a cover, and they’re 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games after a bye. Pittsburgh shouldn’t beat Cleveland by more than 6 points.
NFL Week 8 Picks: Browns +8
Indianapolis Colts -3 at Oakland Raiders Colts’ quarterback Andrew Luck has thrown 8 touchdowns to 3 interceptions in Indy's last couple of games. Oakland’s already decided to plan for the future by grabbing their third first rounder in the 2019 draft in the Amari Cooper trade. It’s hard to see how the Raiders keep up with Luck and the Colts, Indianapolis could blow Oakland out in this matchup.
NFL Week 8 Picks: Colts -3
Green Bay Packers at L.A. Rams -9.5 Green Bay has a chance to hand the Rams their first loss this season. Los Angeles could be without defensive linemen Ndamukong Suh and Michael Brockers meaning they might struggle to pressure Aaron Rodgers. When Rodgers has time he can beat any secondary in the NFL. Eventually, the Rams will lose a game. I’ll take a shot that they lose on Sunday, especially with a hefty moneyline.
NFL Week 8 Picks: Packers +350
