NFL Week 7 Sunday Night Football - Can Chiefs Rally Against Bengals?
NFL WEEK 7 Sunday Night Football
Kansas City hosts Cincinnati in NFL Week 7 Sunday Night Football looking to bounce back from losing 40-43 against the Patriots in Week 6. Bengals want to get back on the winning track after the rival Steelers beat them in controversial fashion. Which team takes it and can the Chiefs cover as a near-touchdown favorite?
NFL WEEK 7 SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL BETTING Cincinnati Bengals at Kansas City Chiefs Sunday, October 14th – Gillette Stadium – 8:20pm ET Odds: Chiefs -6 (58)
Bengals Offense vs Chiefs Defense Cincinnati is an astonishingly below average team went it comes to churning yards. Their 352.2 total yards per game is ranked 23rd in the league. What makes that mark a bit surprising is that the Bengals also rank 6th with 29 points per. Andy Dalton’s got a 94.6 quarterback rating. That’s his highest since 2015, a year that Cincinnati went 12-3-1 ATS and took every sharp by surprise.Dalton figures to carve up Kansas City, who ranks 31st against the pass. Chiefs allow 127.8 rushing yard, meaning that if for some reason KC stops Dalton, Cincinnati can turn to the run game. There's just no value in the Chiefs defensively at this point.
Edge: Bengals
Chiefs Offense vs Bengals Defense Kansas City averages 35.8 points per game and do everything well with 306.5 passing and 112 rushing yards per game. Their success starts with Patrick Mahomes who plays like a 10-year veteran even though it’s only his second season. Mahomes won’t have trouble throwing the football against the Bengals. Cincinnati ranks 28th in passing yards allowed, 292. If Andy Reid wants Mahomes to hand the ball off, KC will have success there too because Bengals allow 117 on the ground.
Edge: Chiefs
NFL Week 7 Sunday Night Betting Analysis and ATS Prediction Line hasn’t gone anywhere since opening at Chiefs -6 even though Kansas City’s 6-0 ATS. One reason could be because of Cincinnati’s run game. Joe Mixon’s averaging 4.7 yards per carry. Why Bengals don’t hand the ball off more to Mixon makes no sense. They might try different tactics on Sunday, though.
Bengals know the only way to beat Kansas City is to control the clock. They can only do that by rushing the ball. Dalton’s a decent quarterback, but he’s not good enough to go tit-for-tat with Mahomes the way Tom Brady did.
KC’s 6-0 ATS on the season, but Bengals are 4-0 ATS versus a team with a winning record. Bengals must play perfect to win the game outright, but they don’t have to play perfect to cover this spread. I’m taking the points.
