Sunday, Oct. 14
Indianapolis Colts at New York Jets -2.5 Although New York is 1-4 ATS in their last 5 following an ATS win, they’re also 9-2 ATS in their last 11 home games. Colts will tell quarterback Andrew Luck to win the game for them while NYJ will count on their strong rushing attack, which averages 135 yards. Jets can keep the ball out of Luck’s hands giving them the edge.
NFL Week 6 Picks: Jets -2.5
Carolina Panthers at Washington Redskins -1 NFL handicappers have backed the Panthers so much that the line now sits at Washington -1 after opening at Redskins -2.5. Carolina is 0-4 ATS in their last 4 following a straight up win while Washington is 5-1 ATS in their last 6 following an SU loss. The other element that makes Washington a solid take is that they still grade out as a top-10 defense despite allowing 43 points during the Drew Brees parade last Monday. They're 5th in yards allowed, 7th against the pass, 6th against the rush and 10th in scoring. That makes them the play.
NFL Week 6 Picks: Redskins -1
Arizona Cardinals at Minnesota Vikings -10 Most NFL bettors have jumped on the Vikings at -10 even though Minnesota has only 1 win against the spread in their last 5 after a victory. The Cardinals haven’t allowed an opponent to score more than 20 points in 3 straight, meaning Arizona’s defense should make it difficult for the Vikings to cover the double-digits.
NFL Week 6 Picks: Cardinals +10
Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Atlanta Falcons -3.5 Atlanta quarterback Matt Ryan should dominate the Bucs’ pass defense since it allows 358 yards per. However, Tampa Bay heads into Week 6 off a bye, and still has the top-ranked passing attack in the NFL with 363.2 yards per. The Buccaneers are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 versus the NFC South and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 versus the NFC. I’ll take the points in what should be a shootout.
NFL Week 6 Picks: Buccaneers +3.5
L.A. Chargers -1 at Cleveland Browns Cleveland rushes for 144.6 yards per, ranking second in the NFL. The Browns are 4-1 ATS this season while the Chargers are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 following an against the spread win. Cleveland’s the play.
NFL Week 6 Picks: Browns +1
Pittsburgh Steelers at Cincinnati Bengals -2.5 Most every trend in this rivalry favors the Bengals: 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games overall, 5-1 ATS in their last 6 home games, and 4-0 ATS in their last 4 versus the AFC North. Pittsburgh is 16-4-2 ATS in the last 22 meetings in Cincinnati, and that's a bankable trend. Historically, the Steelers have ruled this matchup.
NFL Week 6 Picks: Steelers +2.5
Buffalo Bills at Houston Texans -9.5 Houston might have tired legs after playing in two straight overtime games. Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson is banged up and Houston’s 1-4 ATS this season. The Bills have some rowdiness in them, which is appealing whenever they're facing this large of a number. I’m taking the points.
NFL Week 6 Picks: Bills +9.5
Chicago Bears -3 at Miami Dolphins Miami’s hit a brick wall in their last two, scoring only 6 in Week 4 and 17 in Week 5. Bad news because the Bears rank second in points allowed with 16.2. Chicago averages 27.8 points per game. Bears -3 is my top pick in NFL Week 6.
NFL Week 6 Picks: Bears -3
L.A. Rams -7 at Denver Broncos The Broncos average 127 rushing yards while the Rams allow 106.8 rushing yards. Denver can keep the ball from Jared Goff and Todd Gurley, though that's a tough angle to take on this game. Los Angeles is 2-5 ATS in their last 7 following a straight up win and 4-10 ATS in their last 14 after accumulating 350 or more yards in their previous game. Though Denver hasn't had a semblance of a homefield advantage this season, the line on this game feels oddly tight. The Rams in a blowout seems too obvious. The Broncos are plucky, which may not be enough for you to take the points, but it's enough for me.
NFL Week 6 Picks: Broncos +7
Jacksonville Jaguars -3 at Dallas Cowboys Nobody’s backing the Cowboys because the line doubled from Jacksonville -1.5 to -3. But, Dallas has a great defense that could force Jaguars’ quarterback Blake Bortles to make bad decisions. Dallas could win this straight up.
NFL Week 6 Picks: Cowboys +3
Baltimore Ravens -3 at Tennessee Titans After Week 5 losses, Ravens at Titans has become a key game for both franchises. Tennessee is 5-0 ATS in their last 5 at home while Baltimore is 1-5 ATS in their last 6 in Week 6. Looks like a tough spot for the Ravens who are 1-2 against the spread on the road this season.
