NFL Week 6 Game of the Week
Just three division games on the Week 6 schedule, and the Eagles flew over the Giants to get the road win Thursday night, 34-13. The Sunday showdown in the AFC North is at Cincinnati, where the Steelers (2-2-1) need a road win to gain ground on the division leading Bengals (4-1). Pittsburgh is taking money late in the week, as the line has dipped from +2.5 to +1.5 at many sportsbooks and online betting shops. With a pair of fortunate wins over Indianapolis and Miami with defensive scores and turnovers turning the tide late in the Bengals favor, we’ll find out this week if Cincinnati is for real. This is a preview for the Week 6 Game of the Week.
The Steelers have been inconsistent this season, but they posses a high-powered offense averaging more than 400 yards per game. That despite RB L’Veon Bell holding out while James Connor fills in admirably. Quarterback Big Ben should have a solid game passing to Antonio Brown and JuJu Smith-Schuster, who are tied for the team lead with 35 receptions each. The Bengals allow 276 YPG passing and teams go to the air 27 times per game against Cincinnati, among the most in the league. The Bengals defense is also allowing 53% conversions on 3rd down; on pace to be the highest rate in the last 15 years.
The Steelers pass defense is no better, but cornerback Joe Haden is solid and will shadow star Bengals receiver AJ Green when he lines up on the outside in my Week 6 Game of the Week. Green may be in the slot more this week, but Haden did limit Falcons star WR Julio Jones to his season-low yards-per-target in last weeks game. Bengals QB Andy Dalton will be under more pressure this week with Pittsburgh leading the league with 19 sacks.
Scoring is at a record pace this season averaging nearly 48 points per game. This total has dropped to 51.5 and there is a 40% chance of rain in Cincinnati Sunday afternoon. This still sets up to have plenty of passing and scoring to follow with red zone conversions. The Steelers have won six consecutive games against the Bengals and 7 of their last 8 on this field. Pittsburgh has a bye next week and will be all-in this week against a Bengals defense that will have trouble slowing them down. Cincinnati has been out-gained by an average of 28 yards per game this season while taking advantage of penalties, turnovers and good breaks. The preseason line had the Steelers a 4-point favorite, and we like Pittsburgh to rise to the occasion and continue the series dominance.

Both teams have a common opponent on their schedule, and the Bengals had another fortunate late win to beat Atlanta in the closing seconds two weeks ago, 37-36. The Falcons out-gained the Bengals by nearly 100 yards while piling up 495 yards including over 400 through the air. Pittsburgh then took advantage of Atlanta’s numerous defensive injuries and shot down the Falcons last week 41-17.The Steelers have been inconsistent this season, but they posses a high-powered offense averaging more than 400 yards per game.
